Just a silly feller

I mean we can also make long lasting clothes out of natural fibers without hurting animals.

I know so many people who adamantly stand by their use of it. I used to say it, too, but all it took was one person to point out to me that it was hurtful and I apologised and stopped no questions asked. I don't get why it's so hard to just have a little empathy.

So many posts perfectly summarising why I've always preferred the reddit format over twitter. On one you follow topics, on the other you follow people. I prefer to hear a wide range of views on one topic rather than one persons views on different topics.

jiggle

This is just the first thing I found, but I'm sure there's others for whatever you're using.

I, too, hate anti-caking agents in my cheese, also cheese without anti-caking agents, and even cheese with caking agents. I am vegan btw, I don't eat cheese.

I hate how quickly "AI" has been adopted for tasks it is wholly incapable of doing well, merely fast.

You also don't need to eat the animals to survive.

Supposing this is real, how do you even fuck up wiping, wearing pants and sitting so bad that this is possible.

Taking care of our less fortunate is one of the best uses of taxes there is, would you rather them go toward bailing out more corporations or more tax cuts for the rich?

It's just like any other investment, they expect to get more money out of whatever they invest into his campaign.

Wowee, yet another LLM. I bet this one's going to be super different somehow.

I am glad this went in this direction. I kinda like a lot of the new slang, and am also chill with being an old loser using them incorrectly, it's part of the evolution of language and I'm glad to play my part.

I'm actually not sure that would hurt his chances of winning

Yeah, I'm in my 30s and I remember how wildly different it was when I was young. There's still a lot to be done but seeing the general shift toward acceptance is nice (where I am at least).

I remember doing an IT course over a decade ago and learning about IPv6 taking over, honestly surprised it hasn't yet. I just looked it up and apparently they came up with it in 1998. How is it taking so long? Is there some technical reason it's harder or something? Does the extra address size mean a not so great trade off in traffic or something?

note: I did study a bit of networking and IT but have forgotten everything mostly and work in a different field, thus my ignorance.

The comments are funny but if you read the article he just did it for the bit. Apparently he changed quite a bit over that time and regretted being an angry forum nerd, so he thought it would be funny to do one last post and abandon the account.

The US instead decided to let them keep doing whatever they wanted.

You're literally responding to an article criticising the power consumption of ai. What do you mean where are the people? They're right here.

Obviously I understand, but hypothetically if I didn't what does any of this mean?

There's also titles where the Devs cooked and ended up spending too much time and resources and underdelivered on huge flops. See Daikatana or whatever kickstarter game is disappointing people at the moment. Making games is just difficult, let alone making something that everyone loves.

And reduce the amount of lanes from 10 to 9? You're crazy, there's no way it'll work.

If he could just stop eating approximately 17 avocado toasts an hour 24 hours a day this wouldn't be a problem.

Until we have a world that recognises that the internet is now a right and governments should be subsidising search and other services so that they don't turn into useless ad delivery systems - I'm ok paying for Kagi.

I got into sewing so I do use an iron, but even then half the time I'm lazy and don't even press my seams. I'm not very good at sewing as a result, but I have a good time all the same.

Yeah, just the other day I bought some chocolate eggs and when I went to fry them up for breakfast it turned out they were chocolate (wtf) this mis-labeling of things is just too confusing.

Yeah, an AP picture was posted to twitter and then the photographer was banned lol.

That's a divorcin'

And here I was thinking defunding it would yield the biggest improvements. Astonishing

Animal agriculture kills something like 200 million chickens a day. They all live short miserable lives anyway, this hardly stands out to me.

My company used to use something else but after getting hacked switched to crowdstrike and now this. Hilarious clownery going on. Fingers crossed I'll be working from home for a few days before anything is fixed.

you can do both if you just choose not to care about wrinkled clothes.

That's a great point. AOC has more experience than Trump did when elected.

Taking the story at face value, imagine how horrible you'd feel knowing what you'd done. I really hope they are doing better now but fuck having those memories.

Is getting people to forego their rights for some free chips bribery?

I used to live in a very car dependent city and now I'm somewhere that I can easily walk or bike anywhere I need and get there within 15 minutes and I am very grateful for that. Our biking and public transport infrastructure keeps getting improvements, too, which is awesome.

If they want people to use their cars less they need to start making that an actual option. This is not on the individuals but the government.

People are pretty predictable ultimately, we take the path of least resistance most of the time. If it's quicker or cheaper or easier to do something one way then we'll do it that way.

I've been registered for a while now. I really don't see a good reason not to, they only take 'em if I'm dead and what good are they to me then? Better going to someone in need.

This is kinda interesting. I work in this field and have seen that image show up all the time in papers but never knew the origins.

I think it's the right move to ban it and I'm surprised there's so many people defending it. This isn't about censorship or being a prude or anything like that. It's just a bit weird that it's from a playboy and if you can't understand how that would make some people uncomfortable then you might be a bit lacking in empathy.

The 3d world has Utah teapots and Stanford bunnies and dragons which are all very neutral and don't hurt anyone. Perhaps we can move on and use some less alienating pictures for image processing papers, too.

I think this is a very willful misinterpretation of their comment.

The nickname thing really puts this into perspective. Imagine saying 'I'm Jim, my parents call me Jim, everyone knows me as Jim and it's what I prefer to be called' and then some absolute psycho asks what's on your birth certificate and exclusively calls you James. The level of disrespect and lack of basic human kindness in these people is astonishing.

And if you need to use Microsoft Teams for work it will ignore your preferences and open links in edge by default, so you'll have to find and disable that, too.
