Male abuse/SA victims. It's already not taken seriously enough when it happens to women, but when it happens to a guy they get put down even more and told to "man up", sometimes even by people who'd support them if the sexes were swapped.

Unfortunately I have the gene, but onions are great though.

I'd rather a hundred of those than some kid with mommy's iPhone watching brainrotting Youtube Kids videos all day with the sound on. At least then I won't feel bad for the kid.

Celestial Seasonings tea and Shen Yun both have ties to cults. With Celestial Seasonings the cult that founded it no longer own or profit off it thankfully, but their tea is shit so I still don't recommend buying it.

Ironically I wouldn't have heard of it if it werent for this, so Streisand effect in action.

I think they can work, the problem tends to be people going into it not realizing that it's more demanding than monogamy, one person feeling pressured into it especially when the relationship started as monogamous, and/or it being done as an attempt to "fix" a relationship that clearly isn't working out, the latter of which happened with someone I know.

There is no war in Ba Sing Se

I had no context when I first saw this image and assumed it was something drug related.

As an artist I think it's a more complicated issue than a lot of people are making it out to be, and all the fearmongering some popular artists are promoting really doesn't help.

I am by no means pro death penalty, but I prefer this over the lethal injection. It's a very painful and horrifying way to go and not at all like the drugs they give someone for medical euthanasia, while suffocating on nitrogen is actually relatively painless.

I think it's just everywhere now. I see it on Tumblr too.

My first thought was Cruelty Squad tbh.

People say they want memes like we used to have back, only to flip out when a late 2000s/early 2010s style gmod thing blows up.

Dang maybe we should take a fraction of the trillions we spend on the military to fund scientific research, and also health and education while we're at it so we'd get even more potential scientists.

I was surprised to find out that Patchy the Pirate is pretty hated, which is what inspired this thread.

I have an electric kettle and actually go out of my way to get good tea thank you.

The problem is that the widely available tea brands (at least in America) are usually shit, and people not knowing how to make it right and end up using scalding hot water when making green tea or microwaving the water with the bag in. I get my tea from tea shops and use an electric kettle to get the brewing temps right, and now a lot of grocery store teas are disgusting to me.

I like good coffee too, but when I have it I often feel sick later and the caffeine content sometimes sets off my anxiety.

Not a job, but I was happy to stop using Blackboard when I left community college lmao.

As someone who is unironically into a lot of VR stuff and even owns a pricey headset myself, I did not understand the appeal from the features I've seen past looking """cool""". Even the stuff that looks at least somewhat fun or useful doesnt seem worth it considering the price, especially now that reviews are reporting there are basic features that cheaper headsets perform much better at and are way more comfortable.

Hopefully this will push the billionaires to finally do something about it.

Those things don't HAVE to be NFTs for it to be done. I've also seen some devs say they're wary of adding such a feature when it was brought up to them due to concerns of potentially encouraging hacking, which could be part why you don't see it very often?

They smell like bitter almonds, which smell very different than the sweet almonds most people are used to. https://youtu.be/WYagO-nup6c?si=E_O44PHdOrSZanX3

Hemp is very versatile and can be used to make similar paper products while growing at a much faster rate, which potentially makes it a good replacement. The association with marijuana is part of what prevented it from catching on though.

When I was four I had to do some sleep study thing due to obstructive sleep apnea, and ironically all that equipment they had me hooked up to only made it difficult for me to fall asleep despite that being the entire point of my stay.

I still remember the feel of those wires up my fucking nose all these years later.

Howl's Moving Castle. Not that I didn't enjoy the book, I just preferred the movie more.

It's actually used in a lot of veterinary clinics, so you're not far off.

Nestlé and big chocolate brands such as Hershey. I doubt they'll stop their human rights violations until they face actual repercussions so I'm probably gonna keep it that way.

I mean, it wasn't like I was expecting the guy who refused to take down a popular softcore CP sub until it got mainstream media attention to be morally upstanding.

There was a political switch. Republicans were the more liberal party when Lincoln was around.

Granted a lot of the failures with Anthem was thanks to corporate meddling, like EA forcing them to switch to an engine mid development that wasn't equipped for the game they wanted to make as they insisted on using something in-house, and then forcing them to release it in an unfinished and buggy state. Iirc the devs even cared about the project too, but once again EA ruins something.

I remember thinking it had some neat gameplay concepts from the footage I saw, it just needed more polishing.

All Tomorrows mantelopes last cohearant thoughts after slowly losing their sapience with each generation.

I've heard it actually doesnt taste bad. I'd be unsettled by where it came from though.

Some people found him and his segments annoying. I thought they were fun and iconic.

Reddit hasn't been TOO bad. What's been harder for me is Twitter, mostly due to all the artists I follow.

Grains loaded with added sugars for your largest meal. Surely that won't contribute further to this country's health crisis, like it didn't already do that by marketing itself as healthy for growing children.

Or multiple vindictive crows.

Iirc being unable to do that is a problem involving ActivityPub itself, so it's not Lemmy's fault.

As someone who's into a lot of VR stuff, the biggest problem is that it's still a niche market that requires the consumer to be spending a lot on extra hardware in order to play it. Obviously the majority of studios would rather invest in something more people can play and therefore buy, and at most will maybe add a VR mode to their first person game. I've found VR modes and mods for games not initially developed for that sort of hardware to be more engaging and have more substance than most of the ones specifically made for it (and is most of the VR games I play), but being able to play in VR does enhance the experience imo depending on the game.

-Discovering extraterrestrial life

-Phasing out of disposable plastics and gasoline vehicles

-Transferring to clean energy and clean industrial processes whenever applicable

-More widespread ethical and sustainable farming practices

-Lab grown organs and/or more efficient artificial body parts

-Improved healthcare system/healthcare research

-Better treatments and potentially cures for chronic and/or rare diseases

-Much longer lifespans I just think we don't live long enough even with the current best case scenerios lol

Though some of this would be viable now, if it weren't for capitalism/politics holding it back so might not entirely count

I can still dream
