This is just drama that doesn't belong in a technology community.
A closed source centralized Lemmy alternative
SuiPlay0X1 runs Playtron's device-agnostic gaming operating system, enabling gamers to play both Web3 and Web2 games across PC and mobile.
GamesBeat have some more details, noting it will have "native Sui blockchain integration via zkLogin and Sui Kiosk SDKs, enabling asset ownership directly connected to a device’s account system for the first time in the gaming industry
What is a web3 game? Something that allows you to grind for NFTs?
Looking at the specs sheet, this stood out:
Fingerprint reader (Windows-only)
These are not things any human I know can do
You need better friends.
Who is that comment even aimed at? Being that it is right under OP's comment in (what I presume to be) a busy chat, I doubt it is a response to OP.
Wtf is search engines and why is no one explaining it
Some distributions that ship with KDE have that option set out of the box for you already.
Florisboard (Android keyboard) was recently updated for the first time in two years. Literally one day after I had given up on it and uninstalled it.
Speed has everything to do with it.

This incident will be reported.
SteamOS has been out on Steam Deck for 18 months, but still no general release in sight. I wouldn't hold my breath. I think we'll just have to continue to make do with the likes of ChimeraOS/Nobara.
Do what you want, 'cause a pirate is free.
It feels like just playing Portal natively on the lowest settings possible. Which is a huge compliment, really.
A username is simply a way to initiate contact on Signal without having to share your phone number. (You still need a phone number to sign up for Signal.)
So close...

https://news.itsfoss.com/mastodon-link-problem/
TL;DR:
When you share a link on Mastodon, a link preview is generated for it, right?
With Mastodon being a federated platform (a part of the Fediverse), the request to generate a link preview is not generated by just one Mastodon instance. There are many instances connected to it who also initiate requests for the content almost immediately.
And, this "fediverse effect" increases the load on the website's server in a big way.
Does Lemmy not cause this issue? Other federated software was not mentioned in the article at all.
I wish they would make Wii Sports for standard controllers.

What is the point of a community about hating seeing spam of a certain topic if all the community does is spam about the topic?
It is still surprisingly far from straightforward to get it working
EDIT: I mean Android on Linux is difficult. Not Linux itself.
From their GitHub:
Molly has unique features compared to Signal:
- Data encryption at rest - Protect the database with passphrase encryption
- Secure RAM wiper - Securely shred sensitive data from device memory
- Automatic lock - Lock the app automatically under certain conditions
- Multi-device support -- Link multiple devices, including Android tablets, to a single account
- Block unknown contacts - Block messages and calls from unknown senders for security and anti-spam
- Contact deletion - Allows you to delete contacts and stop sharing your profile
- Disappearing call history - Clear call notifications together with expiring messages
- Debug logs are optional - Android logging can be disabled
- Custom backup scheduling - Choose between a daily or weekly interval and the number of backups to retain
- SOCKS proxy and Tor support - Tunnel app network traffic via proxy and Orbot
Besides that, you will find all the features of Signal plus some minor tweaks and improvements. As with Signal, SMS is not supported.
Molly is open-source just like Signal. But Signal uses Google's proprietary software to provide some key features.
To support a 100% free and auditable app, Molly comes in two flavors: one with proprietary blobs like Signal and one without. They are called Molly and Molly-FOSS, respectively.
I love all the exaggerated future console names at the bottom, then PC is just PC.
Firefox supports the standard just fine

dark.fail is sort of like Down Detector, but for a bunch of popular onion sites. It doesn't tell you anything about what the sites are for, just tells you whether or not they are online and gives you the current URL to access them.
"People" refers to a group of humans as a unit. "Persons" also refers to a group, but puts emphasis on the individuality of the humans in the group.

Those are to keep out cops, not bots.
*squints* Sir, that is an LCD model you have there.
I have used this as a drop-in replacement, with no complaints.
Good thing that it went to Wine I guess, as they do lots of work to get old Windows programs up and running in Linux and that often involves Mono.
I see this as the main purpose of this transfer of ownership. When it comes to developing new software, MS has their modern tech stack for creating cross-compatible code, and the recommendation is to use that. But that is not helpful when trying to get old legacy software running on a modern system. So MS is giving this "outdated" technology to the WINE team. A team whose primary goal is getting incompatible software to run in the "wrong" environment. This should allow WINE to continue to properly handle older Mono software for the foreseeable future.
F-Droid installs an APK that F-Droid compiled. Obtainium installs an APK that the app developer themselves compiled. I'm not sure what you're getting at.
From their FAQ:
##What platforms does Zed support?
As of now, we only support macOS.
We are a small team, so it's critical for us to be laser-focused. As a startup, one of our key priorities at this early phase is learning, and right now, we're focused on the following questions:
- What are the key features we need to get traction on any platform?
- Are our assumptions about our eventual business model valid?
While we'd love to support users on Linux and Windows, adding those platforms doesn't really help us answer those questions. We're investing a lot to make Zed portable, but adding other platforms comes with opportunity cost in the short-term and maintenance overhead going forward. Right now those costs don't make sense for us.
As Zed matures on a single platform, this cost/benefit ratio will shift, and it will make sense to expand to other platforms. We hope you'll give it a try when that happens.
As a general timeframe, you can expect us to begin work on supporting these platforms after Zed is open source, but before version 1.0. Any news will be posted to our platform-tracking issues.
Linux support is listed on their roadmap.
We hang out at !framework@lemmy.ml
Which is a ton of older (and still fun) games.
