I like the boxes and fence one more, this just feels super-contrived

On one hand, a Sonic hacking forum I've been a part of since before its current forum software has been running the same database since 2003, on the other hand I fully acknowledge that it's the exception and not the rule.

Finally a GREAT episode this season! Some of the jokes fell flat and this wasn't a top 5 episode, but it was still really good!

I still say "Never give up! Never surrender!" occasionally to this day

Man this place needs a no politics rule or something

Here are a few great channels from my Youtube subscriptions!

Tasting History with Max Miller hits a perfect cross-section of my interest in cooking and my interest in history. Max goes through a historical recipe each episode and pauses part of the way through to explain the history of the dish.

Minute Food has lots of short (sometimes under a minute!) videos about the science behind cooking.

Chinese Cooking Demystified is a husband-and-wife duo living in China that goes over traditional Chinese recipes, I especially like how in the voice-over they frequently list substitutions for ingredients that may be difficult to find outside of China.

Atomic Shrimp does far more than just cooking, but the cooking videos on his channel always give a neat insight into the everyday meals an older British IT Specialist makes.

Starship Troopers is weird because the book went full on in embracing the military-industrial complex and was kind of shit because of it. The movie made it a parody instead and it worked great!
...then they made a few sequels that yeah were more in line with the original book but in this case is that really a good thing?

Why are some gamers happy about a new game in a popular series?

I came here to comment Sir Terry Pratchett's works as well! They're all really good while also poking fun at fantasy tropes

Don't ask for life advice from strangers on the internet who have no incentive to give you GOOD life advice

"Ironic" shitposting is still shitposting.

He was elected to lead, not to read

Back on reddit there were those who had alerts set every time the word came up across the site, then they'd brigade the fitness and health subreddits with their vegan crew to derail any conversations. It was really annoying. No clue if that's still a problem because lolreddit

I get that, I've been "SoNick" or some variation of it for a few decades now. However, a friend of mine uses different - but thematically similar - usernames for different services, when I asked her about it she explained that as a girl on the internet she has attracted more than a few stalkers; changing up the username makes it harder for them to find her on different services.

It means nothing, this isn't really an open-ended question.

Came here to say the same. Used to be closed then I got a cat and now I can't imagine waking up without her napping on me

Good job, Tails! Now fly me to that platform over there...

It's a neat curiosity, but it's not $100 neat

That's a good one! Gnome is the Windows 8 of the Linux world, and the devs tend to intentionally break the extension system between major releases. It's truly baffling how the group that made Gnome 2.x continue to hate most of the Linux userbase so much.

The difference is that ActivityPub clients currently only display the username part and hide the host for some reason. This can lead to confusion, I don't get why the full address isn't displayed by default.

It slowly comes into its own for a bit, then starts nosediving for a few episodes culminating in the godawful penultimate episode. The finale is really nice, though!

You mean that shitty cop drama with a batman skin spray-painted on top?

Again? Wasn't Gnome3 bad enough?
