I'm all for defederating Hexbear, but lemmy.ml is absolutely huge compared to Hexbear. To motivate the community to do that you'd need quite a bit of proof. Or at least something rather compelling. Do you have any proof of what you're referring to?

Probably my wheelchair. It's a pretty nifty little chair that has quite a few unique features. Also I would need it to get there anyway. Otherwise maybe one of my drawings.

Lemmy.World by far has a stronger server than lemmy.ml you can get details here and here I think Lemmy.World is by far in a better position than the rest so they might be okay? Lemmy.ml is still struggling.

If you're on Android you can use Jerboa. It doesn't do that.

Right! I'm enjoying all these FOSS alternatives lately. I really hope they're here to stay.

Thanks! Now I get it.

That's my last day using Reddit for sure. I've already stopped posting/commenting/and voting. I'm in read only mode now lol

Good job. ADHD can be a real struggle. 💜

I hope it doesn't disappoint! But I'm feeling optimistic I think it'll be great.

I'm not sure. I know lemmy.ml has been up and down ever since the Reddit blackout.

If you're having a hard time seeing all the columns on mobile, use "view as desktop" in your browser settings. It's the only way I can see all the columns. (Android / Opera)

Lol. I'm not sure my spouse agrees but yes I'm being quite active.

This is something I never thought of but one day I'll be grateful I know this lol

The Queen would like a word with you.

As frustrating as that would be, it wouldn't be permanent I know they're very serious with backups. A roll back is annoying but not really that damaging.

I was already wanting this because my feed (all/new) is just overwhelmed with porn!

I've relaxed with it quite a bit recently. But I still like having them on me at all times. There's times I like wearing it. Especially certain places like the doctors.

Not quite. From what I've read, I think only text is downloaded, pictures and other media are just links. So not everything needs to be downloaded. Also to trigger/maintain this connection (federation) at least one person from your instance needs to be subscribed.

But you won't find this community in the search bar because you're not federated yet. So to trigger the initial federation you'll need to search for the full URL, the entire URL including "https://" (https://lemdro.id/c/android) It won't show up at first, so try again in a few seconds, and sometimes you'll need to try a lot of times if the instances are running slowly. But eventually your instance will find the other community on the other instance.

But at the time I'm writing this lemdro.id is apparently offline so it won't work at all right now.

I think so. I mean, it depend what phone or more specifically what launcher you use.

That's awesome! Great community by the way!

Okay I will then. But what's the difference? And why so many linking methods?

That's a good idea! Very neat. Also, Jerboa just released a new update that's very good. But it's not on the play store yet I don't think. I got it from gethub.

Ohh! That's an idea. I just don't like nsfw stuff. Never thought about turning it off lol

I ended up just starting over...

I always forget you can do that because I usually keep that turned off lol

I mean they're being really clear that they plan to basically do subtle griefing of other NATO friendly instances... They're also fueled by misinformation and perpetuates it. Honestly the web needs a little censorship. I know that if I really wanted to see them they're other instances I could be on. This one just cleans up a little better.

The latest version of Jerboa, only on GitHub, is really good. I also seen a preview of the next version too, they have comment sort button! Lol

Oh, I understand now. All I know is Google and Samsung but there surely are more. Sorry I don't know.

He started lemmy.world on June 1st

If you do decide to make them community I'd be happy to join. Or even help moderate it with you. I'm quite comfortable with Lemmy and moderate 5 communities with between my accounts. I also used to be a vegan and would like to get back there.

There are actually quite a few vegan communities. Try this website!

How did you make that universal link?

I leaned no one on Lemmy are as helpful as they seem. Nor as nice... I gave up on trying to run my own instance... My life is too busy and hard to find time for this anyway...

Good to know! Thanks!

You can use the search button/box (top right) you can select what you want to search too

This is a work in progress

I've also seen people saying their deleted posts/comments/and accounts are being restored.

What does it cost per month to operate your servers, namely this one?

Wow. That's so much more than I expected!

As someone that's never used RSS, how does it work?
