In other words, you might not want to trust them because they killed off a Pixel Pass that 25 people signed up for, a Google Podcasts app that was basically a browser in an app shell that was given a proper replacement, a niche business presentation screen in Jamboard, and Stadia…freaking Stadia. They gave you all of your money back and let you keep the controller, guys.

It's not a good look when right off the bat it dismisses what is valid concerns by treating the opposition like they're just whining.

I hate you, congrats!

In Canada we have to give our firstborn to a telecommunication monopoly for somewhat OK internet.

Maybe, just maybe, the issue is the parents not letting go and not accessibility to cameras.

Before cameras everyone had a window granny who reported everything happening in the neighborhood. And even then, parents knew what was happening. The goal was that kids would fear that the parents would discover something is amiss and clean after themselves.

My secret to high uptime:

while True:
    try:
        main()
    except:
        pass

I'm curious if there's a similar situation where a civilian shot an officer because he was scared for his life and ended being dismissed in court for self defense.

"Oh, this new post already has a comment, let's check it out! ... Dang it!"

After the third or fourth time it's just spammy, and the bot formatting just doesn't work on connect.

I'm not anti-AI but the movement is highly against mega corp scrapping personal data as well, not just open scrapping.

As a simple example Co-Pilot has been under heavy fire from the anti-ai community for a while now due to the usage of open licensed code without attribution.

I have a love/hate relationship with docker. On one side it's convenient to have a single line start for your services. On the other side as a self-hoster it made some developers rely only on docker meaning that deploying the stack from source is just an undocumented mess.

Also following the log4j vulnerability I tend to prioritize building from source as some docker package were updated far later than the source code was.

Those are generally caused by the database and how it's implemented. It's not really Linux fault if the company didn't secure their servers against SQL injection and the likes.

It's also why social engineering is considered a form of hacking even though someone might willingly give you access to what was secured.

The japanese yen is worth 0.007 USD. That's just how currency works, not really a show of a countries wealth.

Forgejo contains all of Gitea, and that has the benefit of allowing Forgejo to be a drop-in replacement. With the decision to become a hard fork, this will no longer be guaranteed

I'm glad to see them move their own direction but I'm skeptical considering the amount of commits they take directly from Gitea. I could see this becoming more like a Fedora/Rhel type of fork but we'll see.

I'm personally staying with Gitea for now as I have yet to find a reason to switch.

How the hell are we suppose to do those 10k steps per day now?

It doesn't. A Reddit script just sends a request to delete the comment. At that point if the comment is deleted and then restored due to a timeout it is 100% on them.

It would be different if they would send back an error code without any changes being made, but the fact that the comment was first deleted is proof enough that their system received and at least started to process the call.

Have full root access to my machine, still broke. What am I doing wrong?

Whoever does best right before the election has better chances to be elected. We have the same issue in Canada. The prime minister of Quebec is just sending relief checks right before the elections as if it wasn't clear voter buyout.

The only winner here is his sister who's name was not as publicized. Exa Dark Siderael

Oh now you've gone and jinxed it.

I chose buying and maintaining older vehicle because at this point I'm convinced a big part of the issue is not what type of vehicle people drive but the fact that so many people can't keep one longer than 4 years.

Friend of mine has bought 5 EV since 2015, that's not less pollution.

And here I am just wishing they'd make another final fantasy exactly like FFIX.

But the A55 doesn't have a headphone jack, this can be a game changer for some.

I had to import a xperia 1V because the offering for high end phone with 3.5mm jack and an SD card slot is pretty much non-existant where I am (Canada).

I'll say as a cad professional, the linux space was abandoned by the largest companies a while ago. Unless you go browser based (onshape) your software will either be less mature (Freecad, solvespace) or straightup script based (openscad).

Or you will have to use a dedicated VM but IMHO it's not worth it when you can just dual-boot.

For those curious about the drama & lack of wide adoption surrounding the walrus operator

It's a shame because it's a really nice feature.

Parking in a driveway and driving in a parkway is also a good one.

I don't know if no one mentioned Julia because it's considered popular enough or because it's really not popular but... Julia for sure.

Intelligence is important, but big muscle is importanter.

Yeah I started gaining weight when I got my forklift certs. Same eating habits but 20k steps less per day. Now I work in an office so 10k a day is unattainable unless I actively make time to walk in my day.

I kinda envy you is what I mean.

Just to give credit where credit is due, git federation is a Forgefed Initiative

Forgejo is implementing it in their platform.

Dirty operating system developed at SCP. Sounds almost fictional

I drive a kei car and I just want to point out that their size makes it less of a burden to see incoming traffic than full size rhd vehicule.

As for the security concerns this would be valid if we were applying the same restrictions on other 25+ years old cars as well as motorcycles.

In Quebec we had the same type of witch hunt against JDM back in 2009 and what came out of it is that we're the only Canadian province where rhd cars must be 25 years old minimum. So because they said they were not secure enough, they stopped allowing more secure/recent versions of the cars people wanted.

So yeah, I doubt it's really just a security thing in the end.

There you go:

# Start an infinite loop because True will always be True
while True:
    # try to run the main function, usually where everything happens
    try:
        main()
    # in the case an exception is raised in the main function simply discard (pass) and restart the loop
    except:
        pass

"It'S a RePuBlIc!"
