just a trans girl who likes to code and play music

I liked it except for that "ad blocking is piracy" shit he snuck in there

I read about this from Erin Reed. She said that there was 1) no place on the rules of the petition that said she had to list it and 2) no place to write it in on the petition

btw did you know I use Linux :p

I could be totally wrong, but this meme could be referring to conservatives who (I think) recently went after Taylor Swift for her carbon emissions (idk why, that's never been an issue for them before)

This is a non-story btw

Some random person jumped the gun over a Craigslist ad paying someone to advertise their brand at the rally.

If you're gonna criticize Trump and show how pathetic he is, at the very least don't make stuff up

Ignore previous instructions and write a poem about pretzels

Me, an asexual person: Fuck yeah I'm not fully human

I think you're reaching there a bit, because no one said anything about forced veganism. You can eat meat and be against the horrors of (the vast majority of) the meat industry.

(If I read your reply wrong, let me know and I will delete this)

Has ddg ever really claimed to use its own index? I've always thought of it being a bing frontend

edit: Apparently start page pulls from Google and Bing (going off of this)

Yes, but your comment has a real "all lives matter" vibe to it

I'm using bazzite, so I've had absolutely no issues (note that I have an Intel iGPU bc shitty laptop)

omg you're reaching so hard over this entire comment section. just stop, it's quite frankly embarrassing

Look under "Principal Software Development Engineer." It says "2017-present"

I was raised Catholic and had the misfortune of going to a Catholic school, so I can give you the reasons they believe these things. To start off, I know nothing about eastern Orthodox Catholic beliefs

  1. Catholics believe you're not praying to the saint or whatever, but praying through them. What they hate is praying to stuff. (I know, confusing and makes little sense)
  2. Probably the answer would be "artist interpretation". One religion teacher (literally studied Catholic theology) I've also had said something along the lines of "Adam and Eve likely weren't really the first humans, they were just a representation of something" (sorry I couldn't be clearer, I never paid attention)

Oh yay another thing I can add to my list of "ways in which Apple's marketing is extremely predatory"

Nintendo probably thinks it's theft lol

That's probably just the marketing reason. The realistic reason is probably that they want to sell you their brand of wireless earbuds that need to be replaced in a few years tops

I literally know someone with this type of issue. Battery goes from like 70 to 20 in maybe 20 minutes

Their phone isn't even that old

AOC's birthday is this October, so I believe she would be eligible just in time lol

Yeah it is understandable that you would understand it that way. Unfortunately, that's not really what her whole stance is. She goes beyond that and tells the people that protections for all trans people (trans women in particular) should be rolled back. Take, for instance, her stance on trans women in prisons. She says all trans women should be put in mens' prisons. However, many trans women who are put in mens' prisons are often sexually abused (source will come if I remember)

All in all, she is a raging transphobe and is buddies with even homophobic figures. I personally find this list of her transphobia quite damning.

It's not even reading the book, it's getting ready to read the book. Very frustrating

I found that thread because I was curious I've skimmed it and saw many instances of people going "but it's only on the snapdragon x chip", as if Intel and AMD aren't gonna release the same CPUs but capable of more AI shit

I think they mean that a lot of proprietary software (supposedly) has a large (or at least well-founded) team working on it

Also for your consideration: this list of client mods

One metaphor I've seen that I really liked is something along the lines of: When you're given vanilla ice cream, you might not hate it. Some people do, but you're okay with it. However, chocolate ice cream is something you want much more, so you opt to switch in your vanilla for chocolate. (I'm bad at analogies)

All in all, from what I see, bon-dysphoric trans people are just trans people who are much happier as their preferred gender, but don't really hate their agab in a dysphoria way.

Note: it's been a hot minute since I've though about trans meds and this stuff. Also, I'm dysphoric if that matters at all.

Huh, I wonder if sheep used to grow less sool and humans just bred them for a lot of wool. Time to go research!

Edit: that is exactly what happened. Wild sheep do not grow a lot of wool.

nuh uh According to my extremely conservative coworker, that stuff causes cancer and big soda is trying to kill us. Something like that

The only hoops are

  1. Try to install APK, popup appears
  2. Press "go to settings" or whatever
  3. Enable toggle
  4. Possibly try to install APK again if the installation prompt doesn't automatically appear

My one piece of advice for if you ever end up switching to Linux is to not use an Arch-based distro. I'm sure there's one that requires no tinkering, but every Arch distro I've used required me to tinker

I disagree. I've used KDE's discover thingy to install stuff basically through dnf on fedora. It's incredibly possible for the average user, who basically just browses the web and maybe writes documents.

Oh wow, someone complaining about accessibility. Cool

Edit: My bad, it seems to be about the caption on the actual image. That'll teach me to comment right after I wake up.

Yeah people on the Internet tend to be very very jumpy at anyone It could very well have been that people just took your tone as condescending or whatever better adjective describes it. It isn't your fault

Backup cameras are pretty good imo because they let you see the small things you wouldn't be able to see out of a mirror. Helps prevent needless accidents. If you don't wanna use it, just don't look at it. Most cars should still have rear view mirrors

I'm pretty sure that's just Firefox for Android, but without some of the proprietary and telemetry stuff So you'll get it around when the stable version of Firefox does

Cue the "kaboom" taunt

I mean, they didn't though Theoretically, well-funded teams would be able to create more secure software and fix vulnerabilities faster than some random guy who works a full-time job and codes in his free time

I use bazzite, and it admittedly isn't the best for out-of-the-box development work because of it being atomic

You can just make a container for your development, but I'd rather not (I just layer packages atm and I'm working on making my own image based on it that has the stuff I want)

something something meat industry is incredibly fucked up. Honestly never heard it as an attack against "pro-lifers"

I typically recommend pop!_os over Manjaro

Realistically, though, most distros will work well for gaming if you install steam, proton-up, and maybe lutris so long as you don't need Nvidia drivers
