Because of shills and get rich quick schemes.

This reminds me of my ex.

I'm afraid to comment here because everyone will see it!

"According to most studies, people's number one fear is public speaking. Number two is death. Death is number two. Does that sound right? This means to the average person, if you go to a funeral, you're better off in the casket than doing the eulogy." โ€• Seinfeld

Better have some good CUPS.

That's pretty pathetic. Pornhub should implement it "93 people are jerking offโ€ฆ"

Reddit doesn't care about their users, nor their volunteers. They care about $.

Edit: Like Lichess does, it'd be great to have a badge next to our user if we donate some to this server.

Linux is great! It's such a zen environment.

Apple's App Store has some ads. In my experience the first search result is always an ad, and every now and then the Today list features an ad. Not sure how much the normal data/results are skewed. It's a store so you have to expect some kinda marketing tricks to sell you more. They tend to feature popular stuff.

It's nowhere near as abhorrent as the post here.

I haven't run into TikTok unless it has been featured or if it is the top result in the popular (free) apps chart. I wouldn't dare searching for it ๐Ÿ˜†

Internet is what you make of it. Plenty of good stuff to find out here. Just leave when you encounter greed.

Not surprising Google can't handle tech security. I can't be bothered to look more into the report, but it sure sounds like they don't know tech. They're a marketing firm.

TOML. Easy on the eyes and easy to grep and filter out comments.

I really like the way Fail2Ban handles it with a .local config. The default doesn't need to be backed up, and the .local is most minimal and concise. I'm unaware of any other programs doing it that way. I have scripts that either execute sed or tee -a to config files, after making a backup copy of the original.

I'm sitting on the floor on my balcony with my back against the wall, so I'll be falling 23 floors.

There's something fishy about this!

I'm not gonna sign up after reading barely one paragraph. I have archived it for the rest of us ๐Ÿ‘

You seem to be pretty judgmental of something you admit you know little about.

Your house or mine?

Can any fill in how this is in the EU right now, as they often have better legislation regarding this issue?

Serenity now, insanity later.

It's definitely more sane to do it with your toes!

I didn't see that option. After archiving my mind turned somewhere else so I haven't even read the article myself.

You should have Premium to participate. Keeps al sane folks away.

There is no intelligence, only limited learning.

Am I machine learning?

There's probably a wave of spam coming soon, that says something like "Google will delete your account for inactivity, unless you log in here (insert bogus site)!"

With this news out in the world a lot of people will lower their guard, afraid of losing their valuable Google account.

The meme where the dog is inside a room on fire saying "THIS IS A FINE"

It never ends, unlike the hair.

And everyone is trying their hardest to get that number to 0.

I'm not in the US, and even though most (but not all) services adjust for local pricing, finding and keeping track of where something is (often isn't, or not anymore) available to stream is more of a hassle (PITA really) than going to my favorite magnet site.

Just like streaming music where 95% of the content I want is available on all providers, I'd pay for an all-in tv-streaming service. I do buy digital/physical copies of music through Bandcamp. It's all about convenience.

None of my neighbors ever had a pussy like that.

Google is and always was an ad/marketing company.

Not need to insult their mom like that.

The Quest (HD, not the "Classic" version).

Hamachi? I used that to remotely play LAN games with a friend, must have been around 2006/2007 or so.

Don't they all?

Instead of posting here how bad you've got it that evil Google might delete your inactive account you could've already set a yearly reminder in the calendar or reminder app you're using to just log into YT and keep your content.
