ACAB.

So, wait. He wants to secede, but also supports the US military spending money to sponsor an event in his state? Do you want help from the federal government or not, Gregg? Or did the tree hit more than your spine when it fell on you? Though I suppose both can be true…

‘Court allows Texas to ban porn websites’ is closer to the truth. None of them have the ability (or desire) to implement a system to accurately verify anyone’s identity.

It’s just a job at that point, though.

I got an e-bike! Well, an e-trike. I work like, maybe three miles from home, so it never made sense to drive.

Steam giving out refunds works.

Accused? CONVICTED.

It’s really hard to give a shit about working when doing so only barely keeps you from being homeless, meanwhile the CEO drives to work every day in his Ferrari.

EDIT: That is to say, we want to give a shit and be really passionate about what we do, but it’s tough when the time and effort to do so isn’t properly recognized or compensated. My wife loves taking calls and helping people however she can, but the company she works for prioritizes number of people helped as opposed to the quality of that help. As such, she’s looking to leave her job and the medical field entirely. Her experience is that every single company that writes any sort of prescription is only in it to sell as much product as possible, not actually using that product to help people.

There’s nothing at all wrong with loving what you do, or wanting to love what you do. There’s also nothing wrong with wanting to be able to pay your bills while doing so.

Meanwhile, Ken Paxton has sued the city of Austin for ‘misleading’ people when it comes to the voter-approved light rail transit expansion. Oh, and TxDOT is widening I-35 through downtown Austin despite countless folks protesting and some organizations suing them to stop it.

Transit across the state SUCKS. Bike lanes are never properly separated. Light rail is sparse. Busses literally everywhere suck.

I truly don’t see how doing so would adversely affect any company. If they need the additional labor an extra eight hours can provide, they can hire someone else at 32 hours/week to cover it with an overlapping schedule. If the business is smaller, they can pay overtime.

Anecdotally, my own job doesn’t require me to work eight hours every day. Shit, I’m lucky to do four hours of actual work in a day. The amount of work ebbs and flows, but I find myself more often than not watching YouTube on my work computer simply because there’s literally no more work for the day.

I play music at home, sometimes recording it. I have zero interest in monetizing it. The most I’d like to do is collaborate and make music with others.

I also ran a YouTube channel for a few years. Made about twenty cents from that.

Agreed, but let’s not let perfect be the enemy of good here.

We’re conditioned to do so. We’re taught that unless we’re actively contributing to the bottom line of some company that only sees you as a number we have no worth.

Well, it won’t change my mind about voting for Biden either way. There’s no way I will vote for Trump.

Of course they do. It totally kills the ‘weaponized DOJ’ narrative.

He was a dude from Jerusalem. Yeah, he was brown, and looked like… a dude. Because he was a normal-ass human being like everyone else.

Governor Hot Wheels and his Cavalcade of Corruption are at it again!

Apparently time is worthless now. Who knew?

11 hour shifts no break is common.

But they shouldn’t be and that’s the point.

Gave a shit about school. Instead I was way too worried about finding that one girl for me. Now I’m dumb, poor, and have the most wonderful wife in the world… after a few false starts.

It’s the legal maximum fine for this, and there are still three other charges that will be discussed this week. It’s very much possible that Trump may see the inside of a jail cell, but that remains to be seen.

What in the hell is the point of buying up a bunch of studios just to close them all. Microsoft turning into EA over here…

Once again, Governor Hot Wheels and his Cavalcade of Corruption are doing what they do best: being completely and totally ignorant as to the desires of the population.

You mean a decade ago?

Imagine assuming the worst about people because of what they call themselves, then wasting all that time and effort when a simple google search would show you that the name doesn’t mean what you assumed it to mean.

Think of all the businesses that rely on truckers. Truck stops, motels, even some restaurants. Automating trucking hurts a lot more than just truckers.

Depends. I default to being friendly, but I’m not good at it. I’m a terrible conversationalist, and what is logical to me (from my perspective) often gets misconstrued as being an asshole. It’s never my intention, but I’m awful at reading people too. I just never really took the time to learn how to… people.

For my wife and I, our decision to not have kids came early in our marriage. We've never been super well off, but we get by. There have been times where we have had trouble paying rent. Neither one of us can imagine trying to just afford a child, much less raise one.

No? The seat was already held by a democrat.
