I saw a post on reddit a while back from the developers of Ableton. Someone asked in the subreddit if they had permission to pirate the program because they are in high school still and don't have the money to purchase the $600+ program but really wanted to start making music using that DAW. A developer responded saying something along the lines of "We'd prefer you pirate our program to start learning and being creative instead of using another DAW. Then, when you start making a profit on your music you created with the pirated program set some aside and eventually purchase Ableton." This creates lifetime loyalty tbh. These developers know that they'd rather you use their programs via pirating because they know if those users like it enough they will eventually purchase it. This is exactly what I did. I pirated the program and released some songs until I hade the money to purchase it myself.

I also recently started pirating again. The cost is too damn high for all these streaming platforms, not to mention a lot of the base packages have ads/commercials (gross). I use Stremio+Torrentio+Real Debrid (which is insanely cheap compared to purchasing 6 different streaming platforms). Until there is a massive change to how media is circulated this is gonna be my setup.

It was more, I ain't gonna finish my route if I drive 10 min to a gas station so I'd rather pee in a bottle and continue my route than drive the 10 min away to a gas station. But yeah

I just barely had to go get a new phone because my Note20 broke. Was hoping they'd have another in stock but of course not. That's waaaaaay to outdated 🙄 so I got the s23 or whatever. We moved all my data from my old phone to my new one. Once it updated everything I had 12 "new" apps and games installed. Wtf. Deleted most, but some are so damn hidden and protected. Samsung truly makes you know you don't own your own device.

I would love to Google search Lemmy instead of reddit. I just don't know how feasible it would be being that Lemmy is decentralized.

My goto is KeePass. Does everything I need. I like the use of hotkeys and the ability to have complete control over how the autotype works. Plus if you have a fingerprint scanner (phone or laptop or something) you can use autotype with that too. And the program is completely free.

I'm glad Lj took the Sync for R***** apps off the app store. The only way I would use R***** is through Sync, and I Do Not want to use R***** any more. He's coming out with a Sync for Lemmy so keep your eyes out. You can sign up for a mailing list to be notified when it does release.

From my understanding peertube has less restrictions of content compared with youtube. But I could very well be wrong. I'd say upload content to both. It won't hurt having 2 types of audience and could potentially bring more views. I know several creators that upload to both.

In my experience everyone has to start somewhere. I started with just a simple headset mic and eventually got a Blue Yeti usb mic. You don't necessarily need a powerful pc. Programs like OBS, especially if you are just recording, can be optimized for lower end PC's. I recorded on an old laptop for a while and it worked just fine. Start with what you have and upgrade when you can. Good luck!

As for the drama, I subscribe to a couple Lemmy instances that share the drama through Lemmy, that way I can be in the loop without having to be on the actual website.

Or for those without capability to do aux cables, there are cheap Bluetooth receivers that connect to your car radio.

Actually you may not be too far off. Noticed recently that users don't have access to their Android>OBB or Data folders anymore through the normal files app. I know there is a workaround but I haven't been able to get it to work. This may not affect downloading/installing apk's from other sources, but if you have to manually install the OBB/Data you cannot do that.

For example I was just barely scrolling in Jerboa but getting a bunch of network errors so I switched to Connect which is where I'm posting this comment.
