The monetisation of user data is really enshittifying products. At this point I wouldn't be against if a company would find it a "feature" to not require you to login/make an account and share data.

People hook up everywhere, plus if you meet through a game you already have a common interest and a lot of stuff to chitchat about Win/win

Just a heads up for companies thinking it's wrong to scrap: if you don't want info to be scraped, don't put it on the internet.

At this rate, they'll invent a portal gun

What happened, who was this guy?

It's to keep you feeding their site with data/posts/comments

Good to hear, I hope this studio will stay alive in this industry

Let's play games on Crunchyroll!

Oh my god that is so cool, thanks!

The enshittification continues, not that I cared about Twitter before it was X, but the fact that such a massive social media with all this weight is going down only because of the actions of a moron who has enough money to buy it leaves a path for a sad future.

I don't want that, plus in the article they say it's only to open copilot search. Which you can already do with windows+c. And who asked for copilot search? Not to be mean but the basic window search somehow never works right for me and always bring me on the Edge browser instead of opening my files. So if they could fix that instead of bringing AI to still not give me what I want other than a statisticaly correct sentence that would be nice.

I'm biased but I really think Nintendo might be the last one standing in the system market in 2/3 gens

I like this view of parallel structures

If you have that lying around, play that freaking game you left on your steam library for later. While playing this game, limit/cut all your accesses to these social platforms that makes you turn in circles.

Also do invite old friends or loved ones, at least on discord, talking with real humans sometimes could help you disconnect from these ragebait worlds.

I trust they'll do a good job focusing on privacy rather than outright going back to "no banner, cookies for everyone!"

Watch the trailer and you'll get it. Spoilers but if you still don't there are gators in the trailer

So what's the point of liking anymore? Like at some point it's gonna be a single player platform requiring online data gathering

While I see this as one of the rare nice use of IA, if the use is just to fact check some text found on the web. It could also just fetch it on the site instead of using an AI.

Might be overkill to use LLMs here I think...

😬yuck

Money is a human concept and "expendable" (to some limit of course inflation) Energy is not. If this consume less energy than just venting it out then I think it is a great idea

That's exactly what I'm looking for ^^

I've spent a good part of my life downloading my music and using mp3 playing apps. On time I downloaded Spotify to add songs to a shared playlist with friends. I figured I might try the app since I have it installed.

This is the worst music playing app in the world. (I was on free tier) How could anyone see this and think "oh yeah I will pay a subscription to this service". Seriously

Someone explain who's the good lad here?

I think it's alright, sure it's not conventional but you get the point after all and non techy people also get the point. bigger number = highest update

A simple "now guess who's playing dumbass" would make me rofl into dead

Everyone seems scared but I would be happy that such a FOSS designed project would finally be used in mass scale.

Sure content would not be the same, but the structure of lemmy would probably encourage more discussion and problem solving rather than hate induced comments or crazy mob-like behaviour.

When I talk about structure, I talk about some feature like having a downvote, not so much advertisement, the fediverse, no(or just not so much) incentive to make money from the platform, text based posts, custom front ends, etc...

That's very nice

I was about to suggest programmation but I reread and found out about the "no-computer" situation...
