I like using Firefox, but it's a bit ironic to have google analytics tracking on the page you declare to protect the users privacy.

Can't wait an indie developer to go bankrupt because the super secret algorithm counted updates as new installations and the developer gets billed multiple times for their whole player base.

In certain circles it is well known, but Baba Is You is one of the most ingenious games for a long while and should be known even wider.

Philomena Cunk was written by Charlie Brooker, who also has written Black Mirror, Dead Set, Death to 2020 and A Touch of Cloth.

Rise and shine, Mr. Freeman. Rise and shine. Not that I wish to imply you have been sleeping on the job. No one is more deserving of a rest. And all the effort in the world would have gone to waste until... well, let's just say your hour has come again. The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. So, wake up, Mr. Freeman. Wake up and smell the ashes.

"smart" devices aka Internet asbestos

So... If the Unity's secret spyware and algorithm suddenly decides to count an update as a new installation, you suddenly get slapped with a huge bill. Especially if you release multiple small patches and your whole player base is counted multiple times.

In case you have missed, there's a second channel where he tried stuff, like stage fighting, with guests.

Tom Scott has also done a lot of hilarious stuff with his mates.

Also Matt Gray (that face from that image from that video) has started doing a new series of trying cool stuff, like road painting.

Also previously he bought a soft-serve ice cream machine for a while and tried what ingredients would work in it.

The smallest circle should be half way out, because a lot gets misunderstood.

The clarification on Xitter states deleting and reinstalling is 2 charges, the same as installing to 2 different devices. https://twitter.com/stephentotilo/status/1701679721027633280?s=20

That's the difference, they hoard wealth and not currency. The value of assets do not go down when currency loses its value with inflation.

Wealthy have little to no cash that would lose value with inflation, they just buy everything on credit and have their wealth tied to assets and investments that probably gain value at least at the pace of inflation.

Multiplayer obviously, Doom has had multiplayer since the first one

Doom also invented recording demos, because there was no chance to record or share videos at that time

I have had some people refuse to even try Baba Is You, because it looks ugly.

I had The Hex a few years even installed, so I have tried it, but only after getting familiar with the style of Daniel Mullins' games with Inscryption I pushed far enough to get interested. Still very clunky, but worth it.

Priorities shifted, "we're doing good" became "we need to reduce the workforce" over weekend and most of the people who they would have liked to keep decided this is a good time to look for something new.

Well, the Puritans didn't escape persecution to Americas, but felt they didn't have enough freedom to persecute others according to their views and went to find that.

Ahh, classic ruotsinlaiva

In some countries child labour is still completely legal e.g. on farming.

So... It's historically accurate? The "heart" symbol doesn't really look like an actual heart and may have been modelled after a bum or a scrotum. Or the seed of a plant used as a contraceptive.

Initially looks just a simple twist on Sokoban, but the game mechanic just keeps going deeper and deeper and blowing your mind.

I could do that?

I COULD DO THAT?!

That is exactly what happened with third pound burgers.

The Settlers games have not been Settlers games after the fourth one. Except of course the remake, but that also was a very long time ago.

Valve has been quite supportive of fan projects like Black Mesa and Delta Particles and only demanding to remove Half-Life from the name to protect their trademark. But I guess they don't want to risk involving Nintendo.

This. Not Scottish, but I wear a kilt whole summer everywhere. Fortunately our company does not have a dress code at the office.

This makes an exact copy with DRM and all.

DVD encryption has been completely broken and that's why there is free software for playing DVDs.

BluRay encryption has not been and has effectively prevented me from bying any BluRays. Wasted money on a drive way back when bying my current desktop and I didn't realize this. Tried some commercial software, but they neither didn't seem to reliably play the movies from library I tested with or triggered some more advanced DRM on the disc.

The finest of Finnish cuisine.

Finland has all around signs for foreigners that the tap water is not only drinkable, but very high quality. https://yle.fi/a/3-10303369

But for some unfathomable reason, maybe to push more expensive drinks, many restaurants charge for tap water. Except they do not tell it in advance, you just get surprised by it on the bill and swear never to go that place again.

I can still remember every special move and destruction. And how to select Nova outside tournament. Completed the tournament on Heavy Metal, but it's hard only in the beginning.

There are custom tournaments and a open source remake project https://www.openomf.org/

Laws and terms are for the poor. I am sure big players like miHoYo, Niantic and Game Freak (Pokemon Go/Scarler/Violet) already have their own agreements and would not be affected by this.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance

Some people cannot seem to even be able to login.

I probably owe most of my navigation skills to the original GTA games. I cannot orient myself if the map keeps spinning with me. It's easier to me mentally keep track where everything is relative to each other on a stationary map facing north and I am the only thing moving and turning. Also when the originals had only a paper map where you had yo first find yourself and until San Andreas only showing your current location and the locations of points of interest on the separate map menu without any indicator of direction you should head while actually driving, I learned to prefer the simplest path instead of trying to find the shortest way. Least number of turns and clear landmarks where to take them is the strategy I keep utilising to this day in real life also, so I don't need to keep my eyes or ears glued to the phone and blindly try follow it.

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you have a source for more complete explanation?

H.261 is way older than Doom and already uses motion compensation and inter-picture prediction.

The aformentioned demos work by recording all input control states for every tic and then replaying them later in-engine. But I don't think that parallels video encoding.

EDIT: Sorry, I misread. But yeah, Doom does not send deltas but the multiplayer also works by sending those same input states every tic that demo recording saves.

I played and liked them, second is the best and third was a mess that initially looked cool and I wanted to like, but it just was not good.

But my spouse became obsessed with them.
