Real estate agents getting 6% commission from the seller.

I overheard a FOX broadcast last night while waiting for a pizza pickup in their lobby.

Holy crap that is awful. I remember it back in the GWB days and I don't recall it being nearly as bad as it was last night.

"Democrats don't want to understand you. They just want power." followed by cherrypicked video footage of out of context comments from some random person. "If the Democrats get in charge, they will outlaw jesus!" followed by more bad faith video footage where someone said Christianity doesn't belong in a courtroom setting.

It's like they have distilled down the essence of making your grandma scared and forcing her to vote or else her grand babies will literally get eaten alive because they weren't aborted.

Roblox really is the lowest of the low.

It's the network effect. Everyone else uses it - so it is easier to just use it than to not use it.

OK now do foreign ownership of real estate. I'm getting close.

Neat. I don't like that the implementations have to name the function by some cryptic identifier, though. Real words matter in source code.

Who can tell me what this function is?

def Z10096(Z10096K1):
    return Z10096K1 == Z10096K1[::-1]

How about this?

def isPalimdrone(myString):
    return myString == myString[::-1]

Who is he? I think that is less important than it is to figure out which bbq sauce to use on him when it is his turn.

Some really solid recommendations here. Thanks a ton. I've heard of Deep Rock Galactic but it didn't pop into mind. And Risk of Rain 2 looks great.

Fantastic talk. Unfortunately, the last question was spot on - Cory's ideas require political action.

But that political process is corrupted by the very companies we need action against.

That's why I stopped paying for Plex about 7 years ago. The CEO clearly has other priorities than making Plex serve home media.

My parents sent me to Jesus camp when I was in high school. This particular camp was one where kids would go on week long excursions. I didn't jive with the jesus stuff, but a week of camping and swimming in lakes was great.

This particular year I did a week of biking and climbing. We practiced at the rock wall and got our bearings and we were signed off by some climbing instructor. We then went on the road. Six days later, we arrived at the rock face we were to climb. We started at the top, dropped our gear, then half of us hiked down and our belays hung out on top to help us back up.

I did my climb. It was uneventful but fun. Then it was my turn to belay.

We did everything with just climbing ropes and carabiners. No additional equipment. We were to tie off onto a tree or boulder on the summit and make a particular kind of loop around ourselves that wouldn't allow it to constrict and hurt us if we were hauling the person below up the face. Nbd I get it all set up and we move on.

Well, my climbing buddy was picked randomly and it was the fat girl with homesickness. She finally stopped moaning and decided to give it a shot. I was happy for her and got ready. She hiked down and got herself ready.

"On belay!" I check my stuff, see it's good "Belay on!"

She starts climbing. But she couldn't get past the first major rock and she decided to quit. Oh well.

Then I turned around and found my support rope wasn't tied around the tree and I would've been yanked off of a 60 foot rock face the first time she slipped.

Yeah, the region in question was meant to be broad since this is a pretty specific and peculiar subject.

Sounds like a good way to get a new tv and move away from roku. They're really piling on the ads lately and making their os really slow.

You know why all of the printer companies are so shitty? It's because they're in the business of selling printers. That's why they break and cost so much to maintain. You know why the sewing machine company sells printers that work? Because they accidentally let some of their sewing machine engineers make printers.

I'm crumudgeony enough to remember when buying a game was buying a game. I disliked it when mobile games slowly changed into monitization via microtransactions. Heck, I remember buying games for full price and then they got changed to ftp overnight with mtx. That kind of stuff drove me nuts and I am firmly anti-mtx. That said, I let my kid earn money he can use on mtx for cosmetics and stuff on Fortnite. But it is a dedicated pool of money for mtx, his actual money kept separate so he can buy ice cream or save for bigger purchases without worry. Roblox on the other hand, is a company that exploits children for their labor to create the games and it hires psychologists to ensure kids dump as much money into it as possible all while having no moderation. Roblox is awful. Microtransactions in children's games are harmful and exploitive. I'm letting my kid get a drip feed so he can get the little benefit from having non-stock costumes in fortnite while also having the learning experience that in games with mtx, you can never have enough - without him becoming a whale.

Yeah that girl is an orphan AND a mother. Fuck.

Coincidentally they got banned from Roblox at the same time! One of them dumped $50 in an afternoon on the game then had the audacity to ask for more money. So his whole social circle got booted from that cesspit on the same day. Me and their parents are trying to find good substitutes.

The idea that it costs more to put oats in a blender with an enzyme is more expensive to produce than breeding and feeding cows is pretty laughable. Non-dairy is only more expensive because of gigantic subsidies that simply don't need to exist in the modern era.

Edit: the number of you simping for a gigantic corporation is surprising. Oat water is cheap to make. Milk is not. You buy milk at the grocery store nearly at cost. You buy oat milk in branded containers in the yuppy-vegan-white-women priced section at gouging prices. Starbucks does not have costs like the grocery store lists their prices.

As a dad... I'm going to have to use this one day.

Yeah we're giving him and his friends alternative multiplayer games to have fun on with each other. It's not like we're killing his social circle - we're just upgrading the forum.

All of the others were just USB 2.0. Comparing them to a TB4 cable is kind of hilarious.

I think Reno, Nevada does some similar antics. And possibly Atlantic City, NJ. All of them have local economies based on casinos (and historically, organized crime).

That's why they do it - they only work a fraction of the amount for the same profit by gouging the everliving fuck out of a small number of people.

Can someone tell me why a clerk is an elected position?

This asshole voted to overturn the election.

Would you kindly fuck off? I am allowed to parent my children how I see fit. I provide him plenty of high quality games and multiple gaming systems and I want to make sure that his limited video game time is at least stimulating.

I just want to avoid the porn games on steam, and any super-gory shit like dead space. I thought Diablo would be fun for him but it is a bit too much right now. It was different when super pixelated back in the D2 days.

I might as well just hold the crackpipe for him and light it

I had a few come over and I was already in the market for solar so I entertained them for a minute. I told them "OK, give me some invoices for your other customers so I know what you charge. Black out the names, I dont care - I just want the prices of your services and materials". These idiots would not stop calling me or coming over to my house for months. I kept telling them "Unless you give me actual, real world dollar amounts, I won't consider it".

Those solar sales guys are worse than used car salesmen.

This is why Tuberville is blocking promotions. It's the same strategy that was used by the GOP to swing the federal courts to be unqualified hacks that are loyal to the GOP. Tuberville is just a useful idiot though - he didn't come up with the idea - he's just doing what he was told to do.

So if the GOP succeeds and can wait out until the second Trump presidency, then the senate will allow promotions for exclusively trump loyalists to the upper eschelons of the US military and they will then begin to purge everyone who doesn't publicly suck trump's dick.

No one can because of laws written by real estate agents who turned into legislators.

They've taken over moderation too. I criticized a local restaurant that got passed down from father to son, and got banned. I did call the son a trump loving shitstain so that might've had something to do with it.

I think you're absolutely correct about them choosing those awful identifiers so the functions are not language specific. It just hurts to read and thoroughly makes it harder to understand because my brain doesn't tokenize "Z10096" and "Z10096K1".

Consider just eating, you know, cow, or only venison from a trusted source.

Preferably the person that shot and had it butchered.

Eat the person who shot the deer? Dang that's some extreme veganism.

Thank god my PC doesn't have a TPM.

Otherwise, I am just waiting for some industrial software to be usable on Linux (they're migrating now!) so I can finally drop Windows for good.

All we need is one defecting GOP SC justice to bar him from the entire country's general election. Cross your fingers.

I look at it as fleecing the assholes who buy those fucking things for vanity. Keep it up Ford and GM. Make them go fucking broke.
