Black belt in Mikado, Photo model, for the photos where they put under 'BEFORE'

MS-DOS, Source public available on March 25 2014 with MS Research License, released with as Free Software MIT license in 2018, this yer released as Open Source MS-DOS 4.0. Anyway, the Source code was available since 2014, only different licenses since then.

At least not in the EU, there Windows should even allow you to uninstall EDGE. MS in the EU is way different, less restrictive and more private than MS US.

How will they control if someone other continue with your account when you die?

No problem

  • Under "Power Options," click "Change what the power buttons do."
  • Click the "Change settings that are currently unavailable" link near the top of the page.
  • Deselect Fast Startup (Recommended)
  • Save Changes
  • Done

It always amuses me when people say that Windows is easier to use than Linux, which is absolutely false and only coincides with basic functions, but not if you want to make Windows do what the you want and not the other way around. Windows allows you to tame it completely, it has all the necessary settings, but naturally these are becoming less and less intuitive and more hidden.

MS US not only use cookies, it logs even your keystrokes and mouse movements, apart to pass your data to Towerdata and Facebook. Cookies are not the problem if yo use uBO, Cookie Autodelete or similar.

Thanks, I can't access this site, because it says I have to diseable my adblocker, my adblocker is off on this site, but I don't feel like deactivating the other protections. Suspicious if a page requires you to enter naked. in Make use of the same thing happens, with the same reasons for not trusting.

Because of this, I never upload directly an image to Lemmy and others, using instead a sharing tool (FileCoffee, IMHO the best). With my account there I can easily delete the hosted image with which it disappear everywhere.

The problem is an obsolet copyright law, made by big companies and elderly politicians confusing a remote control with a smartphone. Money is killing the culture and the knowledge.

Let see how long would be exist these

If not, the alternative

I don't know, the last time I used Google search was about 12 years ago, I think.

Only on EV? It's hard to find reliable informacion between 99% influencer crap and bullshit. YT is good for music and some movies which someone had uploaded, little else.

It is the gaming industry itself that plagiarizes and pirates others continuously since Pacman. But of course, they don't want others to do it.

My right is to use

  • Adblocker
  • Trackerblocker
  • Clickbait Blocker
  • Fingerprint Randomizer
  • Anti-adblock blocker
  • Cookie Advice Blocker
  • Paywall jumper

This as long Website abuses with these measures, to steal my data, bandwith and browsing speed, annoying me. I'm a user not a tradable matter

At least in the EU until now no such PopUps, but it's hilarious, that I can't update to W11 in a 3 years old Laptop, at least not without cheats, only because my Graphic Card, AMD Radeon with 2+1 GB isn't in the MS list, not for other reasons.

Flameshot is a really nice screenshot tool, but the big drawback is, that it only upload to Imgur, one of the worst Data hogs. The best and most complete is ShareX, there you can set the destinations to your like, but it has also a big drawback, it's Windows only (depends on NETframework, same as Greenshot)

➡️

You can use Flameshot, but recomment to store the screenshots only locally and upload to share/host later to, eg vgy.me, or some self hosted one, like FileCoffee (valid for all type of files, image, video, multimedia, documents, presentations, etc.)

Somewhat better than this useless USB thingy (from Temu?)

https://futurism.com/memory-that-lasts-forever-new-quartz-coin-can-store-360tb-of-data-for-14-billion-years

Summary by Andisearch

Researchers have developed a new quartz coin that can store 360TB of data for 14 billion years. This is a significant improvement from the previous quartz glass storage, which could only store data for 300 million years. The technique uses femtosecond laser pulses to write data in the 3D structure of quartz at the nanoscale. This makes it possible to store the whole of human history in a small coin-sized device. The storage system is also very durable, able to withstand high temperatures. This technology could potentially serve as a means of archiving important information for future generations or even extraterrestrial beings.

Not only that FOSS use GitHub and other proprietary hosts, they even in much cases contain APIs of Google, M$, Amazon, Fakebook & cia, APIs also offered as FOSS by Big Brothers. Since these companies have entered the world of OpenSource, what was previously considered free software is becoming more and more perverted.

It's ridiculous when I want to use an OpenSource service where an account is necessary, most of the time a window appears with the kind offer to log in with a Google or Facebook account or that this service send data to googleanalytics, googletagmanager and Alphabet, like ocurres with an account in Mozilla.

Time to update and redefine what free software should be.

We all know that companies like Adobe, Amazon, Google, Zuckerbot products and M$ are everything, but trustworthy when it comes to security and privacy. But too many times FOSS is confused with being reliable, secure and private, which is profoundly false, especially in recent years, since precisely the aforementioned companies got massively into the world of OpenSource, injecting and controlling many FOSS products with their APIs.

The big evil today is called surveillance advertising, that is, selling user data to advertising companies and others, to create income, which is not only an invasive privacy problem, but also a serious security problem as it is not controllable how these data, often sensitive, are processed and protected.

Especially in products from the US, where privacy regulation is practically non-existent and which require an urgent review in this regard, irrelevant if it is FOSS or proprietary soft. It also requires a revision of the definition of OpenSource, where products that send data to third parties and large companies are not really Open Source, other than in an evil sense..

That is a general problem in the internet, not only in Lemmy, images andother content can be copied, this you can't avoid, it would even be imposible if you could delete embedded images in Lemmy, someone could have copied and pasted it somewhere else. But by using an imagesharer where you later delete the image, you also eliminate your origin as the author, since it no longer appears in your contributions in Lemmy or other sites.

This new invention from Google has nothing to do with the browser you use. It is an API incorporated into, with Google affiliates and its own, web pages, which allows these pages to block any browser "for security reasons", when it does not have a Google Token incorporated, that accredits it as secure. That is, it is then Google itself who decides which browser is worthy to access the web. It doesn't matter which browser you use, or incorporate this Token in it, or forget about a large part of the internet and anyway about any Google page or service (Gmail, YouTube, GDrive, GoogleMaps, ....). This is the danger that the free internet faces, that Google decides which browser is worth using and which is not, being able to allow only Chrome itself as the only valid browser to access half of the pages on the network, and Game over for everyone else, Chromium, Gecko, WebKit or any other, without Google Token in it no internet, except if some geek comes up with some Fake Token which can be used (complicated)🤬.

Make use of it if you don't want to reduce quality.

Only was a cable

Military intelligence is to intelligence, what military music is to music.

I use Gimp and Krita, ShareX also with the complementary Extension, integrated with FileCoffee, old but gold VLC media player, PicView image viewer/editor (IMO best alternative to IrfanView), ProtonVPN (yes, it's OpenSource), Crow Translate, FreeTube, Portmaster, Cherry Tree editor, apart of some games (The Dark Mod, Armagetron Advanced, Scorched 3D, and some more)

Even Xiaomi has released the SU7, a real Tesla killer and also way cheaper. But not for the US market, but for the EU.

Sounds better than Xeets

For the downvoters, also Firefox and forks need to insert this Google Token in the Browser or die. Because of this Mozilla, Vivaldi and several others have started a protest before the legislator to prevent this crap. In the EU there is already a debate whether or not this is compatible with GDPR and user rights. We'll see what comes of this. It is legitimate that Google provides tools to web pages to protect against entries from bots and insecure browsers, but it is not legitimate that the decision which browser is secure and which is not, depends on this company, only a certificate from an independent technical institution can be valid on technical grounds and not by Google itself for possible commercial reasons.

On social networks for a long time, with excellent translators available, I don't really care what language a post is written in. In this way I have found a lot of information, new things and very interesting contributions, which I would have missed by using filters.

If the inbuid translator in your browser isn't enough, these are anyway better (both FOSS). Maybe the best ones you can find. both multi-engine, full customizable. Translate full page, selection, words, inverse translation, more than 120 lenguages.

Red Neck was still in use and HAL9000 too obvious

Vivaldi had stripped out this crap, it's good that Chromium is FOSS, anybody can gut it to their like. Apart the Vivaldi History Page is way different from al other Chromium (Calendar view customizable in several formats, stadistics with graphs, not a simple list) since its first versions..

Vivaldi doesn’t collect your history data. All of this information is strictly private and local to your computer. What you get to see is the kind of data that could be tracked by third parties. Instead of trying to monetize it, we are giving you this data – for your eyes only. With the ability to analyze this information, you can decide if you want to adjust your online behavior or remove certain items from the list.

I always thought that Linux is a better platform for games, the problem until now was not this, but the availability of games for Linux.

Darwin approved

BS. Trees absorb CO2 and produce oxygen. In fact, there are no other sources of oxygen other than that produced by plants, which is why it is an unequivocal indicator of life on other planets. Oxygen is a very reactive element that is used up quickly, combining with other elements, if it is not replaced continuously, not possible by inorganic or geological processes. Refusing reforestation because it serves as an excuse to pollute more is absolute idiocy, an ad hominem fallacy. What is needed is to kick out the fossil energy lobbies from politics and "climate summits", because they are the cause, not reforestation.

Together with the ShareX extension (FF and Chromium), using with FileCoffee (setup script), a killer app

(FileCoffee isn't OpenSource, but i recommend it as one of the most private host and sharer (images, multimedia, video, documents, presentations, text.....), 100% free (account (free) optional), made in the EU (Netherland), best replacement of Imgur, which is a little less than spyware.)

I use also

And to turn off the bad habits and sniffings of Windows

Logical decision on the part of a journalistic medium, given that the fediverse has many more sources of information than a monolithic Big Brother traditional social network with mainstream users.

Another nice Desktop client (FOSS), which works very well, no ads and not only for YT

MotionBox accesses and aggregates videos via the VBML language.

It supports DuckDuckGo, BitTorrent, TMDB, Youtube, Dailymotion, Vimeo, Twitch, TikTok, Facebook, Odysee, PeerTube, Last.fm and SoundCloud.

All of this inside multiple tabs and without ever showing an ad.

https://omega.gg/MotionBox/

OpenSource is only as good as an active community it has, bad if not and with an lazy dev. FOSS without an update since years is risky crap.

Look at the colors, which shows which distros ajust best o worse to your results, with the correspondin descriptions which match your answers in the test. Better to have a list to choice between 10 or 20 distros than between several hundreds which exist, impossible to know all of these. This large quantity, on the one hand, is an advantage, because everyone can find exactly the OS they need for their purposes, but it can also result in a problem of compatibility for the development of software and availability of certain drivers.
