Developer by day, gamer by night!

🖥️ Stack: #NodeJS #Flutter #Go

🐧Linux: Currently on #Fedora

🎮️ Games: #ApexLegends and #Chess

Fun fact: Built my own custom keyboard, which sometimes doesn't work and hangs, but hey.. it still adds to the charm, right 😂

When I hear "audiophile", I truly never think about licking the banana-plugs, so nope.

There are also some popular YT channels like Computerphile and Numberphile

Ooooh....wait... by streaming you mean netflix, etc...

Can we please invent a word for streaming pirated content?

Maybe it's just me, but I never liked GitLab in the first place. The UI is just awful to me. Searching through issues, before posting a new one, is just a pita.

YSK that this is not an advertising community

Lol... stupid junior-devs... in such case you should go with switch-statements instead... much cleaner.

These ads make it impossible to use YT as a free learning platform anymore.

When I want to dig into a subject, I want to do it focused and without being distracted, and YT makes it impossible. The only content one can tolerate ads on is entertainment, which makes YT just another TikTok.

or.. we just need more FOSS alternatives to the car manufacturers proprietary OS.

I already see GH issues like: "breaks stop working when going above 200mph."

because they disguise themselves as Jews

Please don't confuse hamas supporters with supporters of Palestine. Two totally different things.

I've mine on a separate VLAN that has no internet access. the only thing it is allowed to do is sending and receiving UDP packets on port 14447/14449 for hyperionLED. And that's about as smart as I allow it to be.

The project is in an too early phase to debate over SystemD. Can you guys please hold back with these arguments until pmOS reaches at least 4% market share.

This is exactly what pisses me off about all of this... it's 2024, we see live footage on various platforms, and the "leaders" make eurovision-like decisions all over the past few months.

It's not 1945 where they used to make decisions based on hearsay, its 2024 ffs, with live footage.

They spread fakenews about beheaded babies without any proof and justified the killings. But the footage that clearly shows acts of crime isn't remotely considered to stop this cruelty.

Nice, but 99% of time you won't even enjoy this beauty of hard work, since it will be covered by your apps.

TIL, why my comments get downvoted. At this point, I'm not even mad.

Has Elon secretly bought Google too?

I'm almost degoogled, in the sense that no penny goes to them.

  • I use Fastmail for mail/calendars
  • Revanced/Smarttube for YT (no ads, no money)
  • Immich instead of Photos

The only thing I can't really get rid of, is Google Maps.

Israel investigates =

  • It wasn't us
  • it was the Hamas
  • Hmm.. looks like it was us
  • the IDF soldier felt threatened by the man wearing a white coat, thinking it was a terrorist. This was an act of self defense
  • The world leaders: oh ok, sorry for blaming you then

I use the provided databases in the docker-compose file, since some services require a specific version and I'm too lazy to investigate whether it works on my existing service or not.

I used to freelance for a big corp who used MS teams and provided me with separate credentials, while also having my private MS account, that I occasionally use for other corps I worked for.

It was a hell using it that way. I had to run each one in a private Brave window to be able to work on two different accounts.

I know they only use MS teams, bc their infra is all based on MS, and it probably works fine for them internally. But man, this shit needs to be fixed in some way to account for external people, especially the ones who chose their own stack and work simultaneously with others.

Looking at our history, I doubt this will ever happen. We already have plenty of tools that make our work life easier, but instead of enjoying the gained free time, we get overwhelmed with more work.

Literally no one is blaming all Jewish people in this case.

The Israeli government are Nazis, the IDF are Nazis and everyone else (no matter their religion, race, etc.) who supports this genocide is a Nazi. Period!

The problem, in this special case, is, once you point a finger towards Israel (or any other Jew who supports that), they use anti-semitism as a shield, they - disrespectfully - use the Holocaust as a shield.

Easy... Anything that criticizes Israel is non-credible, and everything else that excuses civilian deaths as "hamas hiding behind civilians" is credible.

actually...Israeli Hitler would be more appropriate. Not all Jews support Ben (and Israel in that matter) ... But most Israelis do seem to support Ben, otherwise they could've just just gathered around the gov building and demanded his step-down.

This one here is for your co-worker only! Not for you, not for anyone else, just for him:

Now imagine being a freelance developer, who works for more than two clients, using Teams with different email addresses.

It's a horror!

in a nutshell

This is how the control and information exchange of smart devices work:

Phone App -> [Server] ... [Server] -> Smart Device and vice versa

There's no way around this concept.

Now, Google gives you the phone app and the (public) server part. but these only work with their servers and apps, keeping you locked in.

HA gives you the same, a server and an app, but allows you to keep the server private (access via vpn for public)

Also who guarantees that Google Home will be there in the next few years? HA will still keep running even if it ever gets abandoned.

But what about the Hamas that's hiding behind all the Humans, and not to mention the beheaded babies. Isn't it a bit too early for a ceasefire, since Israel hasn't gotten its vengeance?

Oh wait... it's elections year. Got it!

Right??

Why don't they just rename it to "AdOS" already?

I'm I the only one who's fine with not having notifications? I personally just open the web/app to see whether there's something new or not.

This goes for all the social media stuff I use... I don't want notifs constantly pushed into my face

the thing is, why the fuck do I have to answer questions about Israel, China, Uganda, or Madagascar or any country, other than Germany, when applying for a German citizenship? That's absurd!

I'd consider this community to be full of nice and beautiful pictures, and I fully agree with the decisions of the mod team.

I haven't seen any of these pictures, but I assume it has to do with the current happenings in the Middle East. For that, there are a lot of other communities to post to, which allow such content. So, if you want to keep up in that topic, do it there, not here.

Let's face it! It's heartbreaking! But I, like many others, don't need a burst of heartbreaking content 24/7. It's just not good for our health. So please respect that too.

I managed to get it somehow working, but it got rejected by Flathub, because they don't want me to build webkit and use the network during build (which I need)

I'm working on resticity, a restic frontend.
