The sale follows a judge’s order earlier this year for Jones to liquidate his personal assets, to help him to pay off the $1.4bn he was ordered to pay the families of victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting...

I believe this money goes to the victims' families

Very fun very cute game, I recently caught a Creature

Edit: NiceCatch!NiceCatch!NiceCatch!NiceCatch!NiceCatch!NiceCatch!

Project Borealis is a fan game based on Marc Laidlaw's "Epistle 3," his summary of what Half Life 3's plot would have been if he was still writing it.

I like to rag on Amazon as much as the next guy here, but this article seems a tad misleading. They do still show up when you plug them in. The article even says they use MTP now instead of functioning as a direct USB mass storage drive, which means you can still plug them into your PC and transfer files though File Explorer. Android handles USB file transfers the same way, and that works fine.

Just to be clear on this again, they aren't "stuck" because they're in danger, the stay keeps getting extended so engineers can gather as much information as possible about the leaks before they return. Starliner is still fully capable of reentry, but this is Boeing's last chance to collect data that can be used to fix these issues in the future. The leak problem is in Starliner's service module, which detaches from the capsule before reentry and burns up in the atmosphere, so there won't be anything left to study after the astronauts return.

The people in every one of these Starliner threads seemingly hoping for the worst case scenario to occur just so they can dunk on Boeing for it are disturbing

Looks like a screenshot from the old Samsung Messages app, the default SMS app on the Galaxy S3 or something. I remember it looking exactly like that.

Found a screenshot. Not quite an exact match but I can definitely see the look they were going for.

It would make for an amazing looking gaming table. Not sure how well trying to keep track of your own dice on it would go though...

There's no rate limit? Astounding security.

Finally getting back to work on Half Life 3

What came out of the last time? Was he not convicted?

This is the first time I've even heard the idea of Japan being a "liberal paradise". I thought it was widely know Japan was super conservative.

The Regal theater here is letting all their projectors go to shit 😡

I have a spreadsheet going of which theater numbers we need to avoid seeing a movie in because the projector is missing the color red and other such issues.

Completely untrue. There are currently only 3 human-rated spacecraft docked to the ISS and none of them are set aside as some sort of emergency capsule. There's no trickery here. The number of astronauts on board is equal to the number of seats available for them to ride back home in. The only reason they aren't stranded is because Starliner is still fully capable of undocking and taking them home whenever necessary. If it wasn't, then they would actually be stranded with no alternative way back beyond straping them to the floor of Dragon.

Must be one of them hentais

Dang, I just bought it 10 years ago too. Should've waited.

Yeah sharing fun clips or a screenshot from a game you're playing seems as valid as posting any other video or picture you've taken to social media.

I recently bought a new TV that came with a dead ant inside the screen. Thankfully, BestBuy is pretty good about returns and I had noticed it right away, so I brought it back the next day for an exchange. In the time it took me to pick out a replacement, they had wrapped the first one in multiple layers of plastic and labeled it as "infested".

This is exactly what I'm expecting. The company of "buy your mom an iPhone" isn't going to be aiming for maximum interoperability.

Some of these are pretty funny though

What? You're doubting the legitimacy of the top secret J.O.R.D.A.N. bill? What next, you'll call the L.E.B.R.O.N. bill into question as well? I'm flabbergasted at your unending skepticism.

I like to think of myself as normal lol

I'm here because kbin.social died and this was my next oldest account

As Business Insider previously reported, helium supports Starlink's reaction control system thrusters, which allows them to fire.

Redditor Dane Gleessak noted that if someone with an Android phone changes the name of a group text, the name will be changed for iOS users in the group text as well. That’s a major change compared to Google Messages on Android, which allows you to rename group texts for your eyes only.

That last part isn't true, you've been able to rename RCS group chats for everyone for a long time. If you try to change the name, it even warns you that everyone else will see it. My parents both have Android phones, so I have an RCS group chat with them, and any changes I make to our group name will appear for them too.

If you've never had an RCS group chat before, which would have previously required every member to be using Android, I can see why someone might think this is a new feature though. Prior to the new iOS update, if you had an iPhone in the chat, things would fall-back to using MMS, which doesn't support group names, so only you would see it.

I thought maybe a coffee dispenser, or an ATM repeating itself... It could conceivably be anything!

I would never have thought to put them in my mouth if they just tasted like any other game cartridge, but Nintendo gave them a special flavor and I needed to know.

Do they not already? I'm fucking tired of the Play Store "updating" the sideloaded version of the Kindle app (the one that comes from the Amazon App Store and lets you actually buy ebooks) to the version on Google Play (which only lets you read ebooks you bought outside the app).

6 more...

In short, no.

What's changed here is now the Kindle and PC will actively communicate with each other during file transfers with MTP instead of the Kindle "pretending" to be a USB flash drive with USB mass storage. There are some important trade-offs that come with the switch to MTP but nothing that will stop you from transferring ebooks to or from a computer.

They probably mean, for example, not having to prompt the user to allow installs from "unknown sources", allowing alternative app stores to update apps and themselves automatically in the background like Google Play does, allow installations from alternative stores with one tap without extra user interaction, etc.
