Just please no more electron.
Just please no more electron.
Don't need to activate your venv to use it.
Just use venv/bin/python my-file.py
from a script or a terminal from your project root.
Imagine if you could easily swap a new battery in. Heaven.
Don't call yourself open ffs
Should see if somebody modelled something similar to print on 3D printer. Could make it glow in the dark, or wood infused filament.
I like showing my repairs a bit, make them stand out slightly, makes me love my devices more knowing they've been repaired.
Where's the new rust version?
What you using all that power for? Gaming? Not likely on Mac, Machine learning? Also not likely with that GPU... Maybe a Photoshop machine? Enjoy that non expandable ram.
For a nice dev machine I get it, nice battery life and watch Netflix on a screen, but it's not like you can't get a same performance machine for the same/lesser price with Dell/Thinkpad and use Linux...
Corporations are people didn't you know?
Watched a YouTube about electric vs gas scooters in Taiwan 🇹🇼. Apparently it's like 6 scooters for every 10 people, crazy!
But the uptake of electric scooters wasn't as much as they thought, but a lot of complaints were around "cost", "parking" and "weight"
Sounds like an electric bicycle would solve all those issues over an electric scooter 🛵
Especially for the poorer, high 2 wheel usage nations, like Vietnam or India.
Just have to pedal a bit! 😉
This mean Intel integrated won't cut the mustard?
You should have a local economy where you live...
S-trap / P-trap (Eg in sinks and toilets)
And zip ties 👍
Did it to themselves
Hmm nothing really jumped out at me at first glance, I don't mind the ligature stuff, but also love monospace for the aesthetic.
But I am glad they're experimenting with this stuff. Ive always wanted a sarcastica font, we're almost there with sArCAsm. But it's a pain to write :)
VLC for the everyday person, all the way until you get to enthusiast class, then you use MPV.
Shortcuts, lightweight, CLI etc..
How does it get the password to begin with?
Shit in, shit out!
Should have used middle mouse button instead
Out of the cloud and back into our federated hands/the edge.
People just love the easy path at the loss of sovereignty.
Something like the Linux unix philosophy of doing 1 thing and doing it well comes to mind. FOSS no less.
What is most likely to be standard on a base system image?
I understood it all, but i didn't feel special until you said that!
Less US centric shit in here the better please..
Many of you use PWA's on Linux already? If so which ones?
(I'm using lemmy via Voyager PWA right now on mobile)
Yes but there is no green bubble stigma in Europe... We all use whatsapp and signal.
FreeCAD is basically the only decent FOSS, but if you want to swap autocad for somebody else you can try onshape, it's browser based so works well on all platforms.
Just cos it's Foss doesn't mean it follows the Linux unix philosophy
Cos you haven't already. You're a par boiled frog and didn't even notice.
You can't find them on printables / thangs / thingiverse?
Fine for living without children.
But moving in and out was a lot of work.
Get with the times.
Signal stands for privacy and not selling your data to be spied on and sold, and you're STILL using SMS, spam ridden, high cost, old infrastructure, easily read, technology.
I suppose you want email in your Signal client too?
Go, you get small static binary, easy to code, and good performance.
You're only half sarcastic, I can tell!
And they did apparently. It's called Tauri
DroidCam.
This thing was revolutionary.
For some reason we couldn't get the cable TV outside, so we took our other TV and then streamed from inside via DroidCam watching the TV to the TV outside to watch sports, wasn't the best but it covered us for the day. Phones run red hot however (:
You're compiling from source. Not average unless you're in a see of gentoo
Also what's your specs, 6GB RAM?
Also you can ask rustc to use less cores, just takes longer...
Some Linux distros change less than Windows in appearance over the years.
Also easy to set configs back to default if things go astray, as everything is a file.
Have you tried introducing an "oldy" to it lately?
I showed my parents who used Windows but Apple for phones and they took to Ubuntu like duck to water!
Only anecdotal but I grew up on a vineyard and my dogs ate grapes, raisins, sultanas all day and all have lived 11-14yo (GSP breed)
This is exactly why centralisation of services and large corporations gobbling up smaller companies and becoming behemoth services is so dangerous.
Its true, but otherside of same coin is that with too much solo implementation you lose benefits of economy of scale.
But indeed the world seems like a village today.
No, they do a handshake through the USB connection and negotiate the best charging wattage.
