I used to not like music at all and 15 year old me would have probably responded just like this guy. But for me it was more that I didn't know what I liked until I heard it. Everyone around me exclusively listened to top 40 and RnB, or techno/house. I seriously thought there was something wrong with me cos I hated everything I heard. And then I heard metal for the first time, and everything changed.
Seems like the intro clears some things: https://gamevau.lt/docs/intro It looks like you install the server component on your NAS/server etc and store your game files/binaries/installers there. Then you can download client applications and download from that location to install on your gaming PC or whatever
Depressive Suicidal Black Metal
It was the greatest game ever.. 20 years ago :) playing a crass game as a crass teenager made it an amazing experience. I do think some of the design decisions/pacing/controls would feel extremely dated now
I've reeeaaaally gotten into the rogue-like/lite genre. Dead Cells, Hades, Slay the Spire, FTL, Vampire Survivors... Just endlessly fun and entertaining. Also for all you Vampires lovers, I just picked up a game called Halls of Torment during the Steam sale for cheap. Super fun "vampires-like"
I'm guessing it means that the tree is growing at OP's post apocalyptic workplace. The only living thing for miles, I assume
You can absolutely do that with Readarr.
I've been messing around with Linux VMs and have gotten kernel panic a lot lately. Always gives me a chuckle
Oh you didn't specify veganism. If you're vegan and eat 1 grape a day, you'll be good 👍
+1 for Outer Wilds!
Looks fine for an arena style shooter to me. I don't need pretty graphics, I just need to see who I'm fragging
Congrats! I've been using pi-alert for a couple months now and love it!
This is awesome. I've started using Openbooks for epub downloads from IRC. Need to look into other stuff too
So there is a bit of a learning curve, but the Homepage docs are pretty well written. YAML is a bit of a bitch to work with though. Very similar to JSON and easy to read, but God forbid you aad some unintentional whitespace
I read through the introduction but feel like I don't fully understand or grasp the point of this... Is this just basically a new type of p2p protocol? They reference local-first or local-only apps, but then what's the difference between that and just a locally hosted server with local DNS etc? And what would an example of "ephemeral data" be? If it is actually "ephemeral", wouldn't you have to connect somewhere to use it whenever you need it anyway? I'm probably just not grasping the foundational aspects and ideas of this
Just curious, why not a full VM accessed through Guacamole? On the other hand, I have never considered a browser based full desktop experience, so I'll probably also play around with these suggestions 😂
VIM master race
Made a post showing my homepage on Lemmy a couple weeks ago! https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/f9a05589-f82d-4771-a1b3-80a351235c92.png
It looks like it's just the play store version that I not being maintained, but you can grab the latest version that is being actively developed from their website
I just use Kindle for my Readarr/calibre/calibre-web stack.
As an American immigrant, I could never understand why Don't Stop Believin was so popular here. I even dubbed it the unofficial US anthem. I heard it so much I grew to hate it. Seemed like every drunk white girl at a party loved busting it out. Granted I did immigrate directly into a US college, so my view may be a bit skewed lol. But then on the other other hand, I absolutely LOVE Journey's Separate Ways. That song hits so hard
It's such a depressing game. I can only ever play it in small doses
I just recently watched that movie for the first time a month or so ago, and it was so jarring how accurate it was with the subliminal messaging
Been using ninite when doing a fresh windows install for years now!
I like the "at a glance" functionality that the various APIs provide. I can view all relevant information on a single page without having to click through different apps. I just set this as my homepage on chrome and it's like bookmarks on steroids
UnRaid server on the left, RPi hosting pi-hole, pi.alert and Uptime Kuma on top
Baconreader!!
Wow I literally laughed out loud
Auto update with "latest" version tag, and re-pull to a specific previous version if there are problems. Got too many containers to keep up with individual versions

I did exactly the same! I tried a few different dashboards, and Homepage was the perfect balance between customization and simplicity for me
Ah you are correct!
This is what I expect from something that is "hosted" as well. I would like to access the hosted app from any machine on my network with a single installation/setup, and potentially expose it for private access from the Internet.
Recently just got into Tunic! Amazing game!
I tried Kavita first before moving over to calibre-web. Just with ebooks, no comics, the user experience in Kavita was a bit confusing (i.e. the way they reference books/series etc). Calibre-web does a much better job with ebooks imo. I will say the UI in Kavita is really nice. I have a Readarr->calibre->calibre-web stack, so Readarr/calibre takes care of organization for me, Calibre-web is essentially just a frontend to download and send to kindle
++for WikiJS!
I picked up Kingdoms and Castles recently. It's pretty fun, in the vein of the old Caesar/Zeus/Emporer games where you can see your workers and resources moving between points. Definitely scratches that classic itch for me.
One of my favorites of all time! Need to go back and complete the DLC!
I have never thought about doing this... But this is actually such a good idea. I'm probably going to set this up myself
People on LinkedIn always post some BS motivational crap like "look at this tree, it never gave up! Take inspiration from it!". Very annoying
