The title annoys me because team 0% did already accomplish their goal weeks ago. Sure it was anticlimactic, but with the rules set out for them from the get go, it was done when it came out tth was TAS.

The games already exist, but not on mobile. I'd agree if they were available on mobile already and then went behind a paywall subscription. If the games would never exist on mobile if Netflix wasn't paying for them to be there, then I don't mind as much

This list can be used to determine how roguelike a game is. Missing some points does not mean the game is not a roguelike. Likewise, possessing some points does not mean the game is a roguelike.

So while some of these are deemed important to roguelike, it can be a roguelike without all of those things.

Now personally I think the debate over the genre is silly, and I don't think the Berlin interpretation is really accurate anymore. But to be fair to it, it does not say a game has to have everything on that list. Spelunky is a roguelike. Idc what anyone says. Just because it isn't turn/grid based doesn't mean it isn't a roguelike. It has most all the other high value factors, and a handful of the low value factors as well.

If you're talking about the whole thing with dolphin almost being released on steam, it wasn't going to cost money. They weren't trying to monetize. They were just trying to have the download available on steam

Sad about this. I know it's fun to hate on overwatch, but the idea of an esports league being city based was really novel at the time. Ive always enjoyed overwatch, and despite overwatch 2s monetization being absolutely atrocious, the gameplay changes I have enjoyed for the most part

Fandom for any team can be taken to the extreme, and I feel city based teams give fun ways to entice more people to care and have fun with it. Also, I mean pretty much every sport entity is corporate. Can't think of any esport team that isn't extremely corporate, city based or not.

Well basically these games would likely have not been on mobile at all. Netflix is publishing them for mobile. If I had to guess, I'd say that Netflix approached these devs and offered to publish for them and provide them money for being on their service. For the devs, it's free money for something they likely weren't considering in the first place (porting to mobile). I definitely wish the devs would publish themselves (if they have the means) but it's not how it's happening unfortunately. And fwiw they are on the play store. You just need to sign in with a Netflix account when the game boots up.

I agree that the Spotify exclusive podcasts suck. However I am 99% sure reply all never went Spotify exclusive. The show just kinda imploded after the test kitchen series. I was listening up till the very end on normal podcast apps.

At least with 2 the devs get more financial support and some more people have access to these excellent games
