"Sealioning" here refers to a way of trolling by asking ill-intended questions, usually disguising it in innocence. When other members try to explain and help, they'd try to lure them into hours of discussion upon it, usually by knowingly misinterpreting what they heard.

Or worse, just directly disrespect and reject all the suggestions the commenters provided. The essence is being a waste of time for everyone.

Let's keep in mind this doesn't really mean anything for Lemmy instances. It is open source.

They will be a part of our support page along with other helpful content, we expect to share it widely very soon! :)

We can neither confirm nor deny that this is the way

I would say a minimum of 10 hours/week is pretty fair. As it is a volunteer position, we would still be very understanding if you can't always make the time.

The comment still do not seem to be in good faith.

Most will still be able to join. It just means that account activation will take a little longer for most people.

I remember someone saying this 'feature' is from a relatively long time ago, when it wasn't so active around here, so it was actually kinda useful. It should be removed soon

Please hang on! Everything will improve in time :)

If anybody would like a facebook group, feel free to let us know. We've also considered a friendly Minecraft server. Maybe a TikTok account.

Remember Lemmy does not only have safe content and communities, and this includes our federated network. If you think kids should be able to view some of those, then you are free to disagree. We are happily following obligations.

Hey! I appreciate your input and totally agreeπŸ™‚it's not an easy process and we don't expect it to happen too quickly, but we do believe that this platform will make it. And we're trying to build a culture of transparency, kindness and support, which is made very achievable by amazing people like you!

Hello there! I hope you're liking it here. Could you please edit your post title to include a question? It's our first rule, and it will also help your post gain more traction. :)

In addition, we have received this image submission earlier today from an anonymous member of our community, who also offered the c/reddit moderation team, and I quote, "one Barbie-llion dollars", to set it as the community banner. We’re not sure what to make of this.

Okay.

What does it mean that e-mail, username and passwords must be complete and true?

Burner e-mails are not allowed on Lemmy.World. Any content in conflict with the Terms of Service is also not allowed, usernames also being content. Passwords must be complete and true in the sense they should meet the security requirements of Lemmy(World) during sign-up, and this standard be maintained during any other later change.

What are your demands for content federated to you?

We have not a Federation Policy in place, as does no one. Any content visible on Lemmy.World(which also includes federated content) would be moderated in accordance to the Fair Use Policy of Lemmy.World.

How does the 18+ rule relate to users on instances with lower or no age requirements?

This rule, as well as simply serving to fulfill legal obligations, is also an extension of a statement from our Privacy Policy, which states in case we realize an user is underage, we will delete all data associated with them, including their account. Since the Lemmy software does not run a feature to check or confirm user age, this policy is only to be enforced upon moments of being made aware. As with our local users, upon the moment of realization, a federated underage user would also be restricted from interacting with our instance, and any data associated with them deleted.

How does it work if a user wants to delte their account and all relevant data as per GDPR or similar if it’s federated?

When requested appropriately and confirmed by us for security purposes, we will(and do) gladly delete all of an individual's data that we have. We are not responsible of what content is in other websites.

Great idea indeed. The rules for moderators have been in the works for a while, and will hopefully be published very soon.

Every one of our users has a right to browse and interact with the website and all of its contents free of treatment such as harassment, bullying, violation of privacy or threats of violence.

Why would we need to spell out every form of these acts? Curious.

;)

I wrote it, I don't need to read it again and I am pretty sure it covers it. Also sure your troll interpretation won't change how it is enforced. Thanks

I agree with you. This moderator acted on their own and the issue is now resolved. Apologies.

@Rooki@lemmy.world time to make an advertisement plan. don't make a statue of margot robbie.

Oops, that's supposed to be referencing to section 7. Fixed, haha.

Any mod tools included with this?

Hello there! I hope you're liking it here. Please see Rule 2 and include relevant body text in your post. Let's keep communities to standards that made us love them in the first place. :)

Right now, exactly this. Quality posts will still be upvoted to the top no matter what. Communities need content to make them interesting, and I'm not talking about communities like this one, as it's pretty active. Smaller communities need bigger support and more content, quality or not, crosspost or not. That's what would make them more findable and "scrollable" which, in turn, would make them more likely to get the quality content they need.
