Web Developer by day, and aspiring Swift developer at night.

I don’t understand why they don’t just migrate .io into a non-country code domain. Hell, they could auction it off to anybody (company, country, or person) who wants it bad enough. Let it live alongside the other custom domains.

You and others are right. I shouldn’t be considering my desires above my son’s needs. That’s really all that matters.

You can say the same things about sports betting.

Thank you. I have considered the option you suggested. That’s mainly why I am wanting to be careful about this. I did take your suggestion about inviting her and her son to an activity with my kids. We’ll see how that goes.

That sucks that you’ve jumped to the conclusions you did, especially without even talking to me first. If anybody is putting the cart before the horse, I’d say it’s you.

I started writing up a long reply to defend myself, but then I realized that you’ve already made up your mind about me. I doubt anything I say would change that opinion. So be it.

I asked for advice, and you gave it. I will see if there is anything positive to glean from your response and I will see how it fits into my life.

Regardless, thank you for taking the time to reply to me. And hopefully next time, you’ll not be so ready to rip someone a new one before you take the time to understand them.

Because an official anime boy mascot would be too apropos?

I did fail to mention that last night, when dropping my son off to trick or treat with her son, she invited me to go with them. I had to decline because I was taking my other son trick or treating elsewhere.

“scent”

You are braver than I am.

Is this better?

You see, little @JimmyBigSausage@lemm.ee, when a man loves a woman…. Birds…. Bees…. yada yada yada…. You get a baby brother or sister.

ahem

I hope not given how out of date it’s be by now.

This should be illegal. There is absolutely no good reason this should be available to anybody. It should also be considered unconstitutional; if one of those dots is a person, whether you directly know who the person is or not, it should violate the right to privacy and the right of illegal search and seizure — no questions asked.

The courts have at least 1,889 pages of evidence of election interference, and yet they will still leave him on the ballots for the highest office in the country.

This right here is the very definition of lip service when it comes to justice. It’s time for America to nut up or shut up. Either way, I’m damned tired of this bullshit.

So when do they plan to do something about those domestic businesses trying to manipulate citizens of America?

This is the real travesity.

Without a stay, Mr. Trump’s lawyers warned, he likely would have to sell some of his New York properties “under exigent circumstances,” in what would be a punishing blow to the former president.

Oh no! It’s almost as if he will have to face negative consequences for his actions.

Anyway, did anyone see the Charlotte FC game last Saturday? That was a killer goal scored.

I have to admit that at first I was concerned that switching candidates so close to the election would hurt the party. Im glad I was wrong.

And these old farts are complaining about how “soft” today’s youth are? They really need to get their heads out of their butts.

Maybe it’s time to federate the IA.

People need to chill with the language fanaticism. It’s one thing to make jokes and rip on a language for its quirks, but at the end of the day it’s just a language. If you truly don’t like it, don’t use it. I’m going to take a stab and guess that there is enough Linux kernel source to go around to both the c devs and rust devs. Just be glad they’re not trying to rewrite it in JavaScript. 😉

To be fair, I’d never thought he’d get this far. So maybe, just maybe, at least in an alternate universe, justice will actually be served. 🤞

At this point, I’m surprised anybody (including myself) still buys/uses Google services, given how risky it is that you’ll become dependent on them and then they kill off the product(s). I really need to get off my ass and switch mail providers.

I’m cynical, so when I say I’m impressed by her ability to both do the hard work of pouring over that much data, and admitting that there was no evidence supporting g her claims, I mean it. I’m thoroughly impressed. I hope she serves as an example to others on how to do the right thing.

And what this post doesn’t highlight from the article, is that she went against her party’s narrative and spoke out about the truth.

Gore rushed to share the news with the hard-liners who had encouraged her to run for the seat. She expected them to be as relieved and excited as she had been. But she said they were indifferent, even dismissive, because “it didn’t fit the narrative that they were trying to push.”

So, in the spring of 2022, Gore went public with a series of Facebook posts. She told residents that her backers were using divisive rhetoric to manipulate the community’s emotions. They were interested not in improving public education but rather in sowing distrust, Gore said.

“I’m over the political agenda, hypocrisy bs,” Gore wrote. “I took part in it myself. I refuse to participate in it any longer. It’s not serving our party. We have to do better.”

There is more, of course, so if you have t read the full article, go read it.

You joke, but that has been pounded into our heads our entire life, and even me (a gen x’er) feels like it’s my own fault because the world has been beating me down for not reaching whatever arbitrary standard it’s set for us.

A friendly reminder for those in the US: you can dial 988 for access to mental health resources.

As someone who has attempted suicide several times, let me just say that you’ve got nothing to lose by reaching out for help.

Back in 2016 (wow, almost a decade now…) I got a job with a group who used Word docs to email instructions on how to update your code with their changes. For example, “In file xyz.php, go to line 123 and replace <code> with <code>.”

One of my first tasks was getting that group set up with git. But I will never forget that was their best way to version control code… in 2016. </code></code>

They are nuts. Their license means that you give up all of your authorship rights to the code you contribute, and on top of that you’re not allowed to distribute modified source, nor can you fork the source for any purpose.

Edit: lol

“Economy” is such a bullshit term here. What they really mean is stock market. The real economy is shit. Pay is shit. Healthcare is shit. Real estate is a fat hog that needs to get slaughtered already. When will the people be treated as Too Big To Fail?

No. Fuck Dean Phillips for even suggesting it. While we’re discussing it, Nixon should have never been pardoned either. It’s not good for the country. We need justice to be served. We were robbed the first time; let’s not make that mistake again.

“Questioning Mr. Kennedy’s health is a hilarious suggestion, given his competition.”

Pretty sure questioning his health is vitally important, especially given his competition:

  • Hole in brain from either a tumor a parasite (sounds like they’re not sure)
  • history of long- and short-term memory problems
  • neurological disorder affecting his speech
  • unwillingness to disclose medical records
  • an “irregular heartbeat caused by a common heart abnormality that can cause strokes”…

How is he any better than the other two?

It seems to me that Musk is trying to get deeper into politics, and one way to do that is to be a part of Trump’s cabinet. So I’d imagine he is bootlicking for the role. And it’s probably working.

It sounds like their only argument is “it’s expensive”, which I find somewhat comforting because then it sounds like they at least agree with the science.

It’s a shame lawmakers don’t put stipulations in that they cannot trickle down those costs to the consumers. It’s not our fault, and we shouldn’t be put in a damned if you do and damned if you don’t position.

Can we form a class-action lawsuit to sue anybody who raises our rates over this? Legit question.
