Most right-leaning individuals are not racist homophobic dick-wads, they’re not waving the confederate flag, and they don’t want to vote for Trump or Desantis or whatever degenerate asshole is up on that podium next.

That has not been the impression they give me when I've had disagreements with the right wing people who I know. If you bring up any of the horrible shit the people they support do, they'll just shrug and say "well, I can't vote for x, they're a Democrat. It's not really a big deal anyways"

I'm also curious what you think racism is. I know a lot of racist Democrats, too.

Go out there and meet some people. We’re all humans and it would be a lot easier to solve our problems if we were in this together.

I think this is naive. That sentiment is collectivistic. Right wing politics is vehemetly individualistic. They'd just call you a communist and ignore anything you'd have to say. They don't want to solve problems, they want only their problems to be solved.

Alcoholic here. Super bowl ads are toxic. All hail the protective ad blocker.

I don't think so, I don't identify as one, at least. I consider myself a leftist.

I believe in collectivism, but I oppose authoritarianism.

which should be proportional to the amount of times the game is downloaded

I have a 500GB SSD and >300 games. Do you have any idea how often I uninstall and reinstall games? Even smaller Indy games?

Imo, despite the bugs and sometimes because of them, they're really fun games.

Really? I'm completely unsurprised he drowned in a hot tub. I figured that or overdose. He's been a mess for a while.

Ring-a-ding-ding, baby, what a way to go.

You've gotta be pretty fucked up to drown in a hot tub

Eh, not saying starlink isn't good, but it's not exactly novel. It didn't take a genius to come up with the idea, which I very much doubt musk did, but the work that needed to be done and the service provided is impressive.

Musk did very little in that effort beyond paying the bill. I don't really think that's something to be commended for. Bill Gates could've paid for it and the result would have been identical.

constitution which explicitly forbids warrantless searches

Bullshit. I have been arrested for a warrantless search.

It has a few blind spots, and the rules are broken, but generally can be corrected and the culprits prosecuted.

Absolute dog shit take. Sounds like the law has been favouring you. Most aren't so lucky.

Guess you didn't stop in Orlando.

Coincidentally, I went to high school in central Florida at that time. They had dogs show up to sniff students' cars while we were in class. A couple of kids got in trouble. Mostly black kids at my predominantly white school.

Funny thing, I had weed in my car. Hell, I was smoking on my way to school. I smoked cigarettes in the parking lot when I was leaving every day. It's not like I was being subtle about anything.

I didn't get in any trouble. It's all horseshit. Back then I thought they were suckers for getting caught. These days I think the reason why they got caught and I didn't is far more grim.

That is embarrassingly stupid. I don't even think he's doing it on purpose unless he has some humiliation fetish or something. If I made even one mistake even close to that stupid I'd hand the reins to someone capable.

Nope. I can still find someone saying something stupid and bully them for it. You just have to be more patient.

Cool 👍

Hades. I used to hate hard games. Hades taught me to get good.

While it's not a direct parody I think The Nice Guys used and subverts a lot of 70s buddy cop tropes.

And after rewatching that trailer I found it refreshing to see it didn't spoil the story and didn't have any BWAAAAAAAAAH

I'm a trans woman in living Florida. I'm very scared. I can't get out. I rarely leave my home these days.

Your understating how destructive that man was. He'll probably end up killing more people than anyone in history.

You can't blame global warming on one person, but he was a huge and significant factor in it.

I'm an alcoholic. I hate the taste of alcohol. I think it's kinda funny you say it tastes like acid. There's a lot of acids that I enjoy the taste of. Tomatoes, vinegar, oranges.

Alcohol tastes bad. It's your body correctly identifying poison. It's bad for you. The only reason I drink so much is that everything else is so much worse. It's basically a legal and deadly antianxiety.

I'll never understand how or why people drink it casually. Unless you're drinking to get drunk I cannot fathom why you'd want to drink it.

Cult of the Lamb. I beat it back in November but picked it up again after the developers added a lot. I've been enjoying my replay. The new additions and changes fixed some of the things that annoyed me on my first playthrough.

I'm sure a lawn mower wouldn't turn that into a war crime. I'm sure their neighbors would have no problem with this.

I sent my bother a text the other day. I got upset that he didn't immediately respond, because I knew he had a smart watch.

I realized that I was getting upset for a condition neither of us set. I eventually heard from him and his watch didn't really matter.

I also think the health monitoring is kinda creepy.

It just sounds like a banking app you can use to text with. Why would I want to use that?

I'm glad that this does nothing for me.

I'm disappointed that this is how I learned that.

How dare you not Starbucks their Walmarts! Google is going to Microsoft you!

Also it's ugly as sin.

I want to use my things how I want to use them. Apple does not let me do that. They actually get in the way of how I want to use my things.

mother!

That movie fucked me up. I've seen some shit on the Internet and thought I was pretty calloused to graphic, depraved brutality. The ending of that movie is something I'll never forget.

I was warned that the end was intense and read the synopsis because I was curious. Even with the spoilers I wasn't ready for it.

I'd like to forget it, but not beyond "this was an extremely well made and moving movie. Never watch it."

Also, get outside the suburbs. There's hatred out there.

Bully me, then.

Hades is literally my favorite game of all time. I used to pass on rougelikes and other "hard" games, but decided to try it out after hearing about how it was pretty good.

I got it on my switch and got hooked. I loved it so much. It got me into challenging games. I'm even dabbling in soulslikes now.

I bought it on my PC when I upgraded. I wanted to support the devs, so I bought it for my brother and two other friends. I even bought it for a stranger I met a party because it was on sale.

Well, definitely don't come to Florida, then. We're having that issue, too. The heat index has been 110F+ for the last two weeks and I still see even more panhandlers than in recent years.

I used to call Florida a toilet because it was fun to shit on, but I think it's just a hellhole now. Vanishingly few benefits to living here, unless you have a lot of money.

The thing I really don't understand, and what is really starting to annoy me, is that you don't have to use it.

I used sync for years. I even bought the pro version to get rid of ads. When I saw the price for the new app I decided that I didn't want to pay that and moved the fuck on.

I understand why the price was what it was. This is how this person makes their living. I don't want to pay what they're charging and that's that. Complaining about it seems childish, and now I realize I'm complaining about people complaining.

All of this is nonsense.

I used to spell my handle with an "x" years ago. I started spelling it differently after seeing so many edgy names with "X's" in them. I thought it was edgy and changed it.

I play a weekly dnd session. I've been playing for almost 7 years. I thought I'd check out baldurs gate. I got absolutely bodied in the first encounter.

I learned 2 things; my DM is very kind and wants us all to have fun, baldurs gate is not kind and is coldly indifferent to my concept of fun.

I'm exaggerating a bit, but it was tougher than I thought. Saving helps a lot. I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten wrecked right away if I planned better.

I picked it up on Xbox back when it was released, because I liked the first one a lot. It was one of the biggest gaming regrets I've ever made. It is so goddamn tedious.

Like, I get why it's that way. It's the reason it's popular. It's all about the attention to detail and a semblance of realism, but holy shit do I hate it.

I got my first perfect bear skin and was pretty jazzed about it. On my way back to camp I got attacked by a mountain lion, sending me, my horse, and the skin down a hill. I only found my horse.

Maybe I did something wrong, but I've never been more upset at a videogame in my life.

I'm curious about this. I've literally only heard about how Walt Disney was antisemitic from memes and Family Guy. Is there anything I can actually read about it?
