TIL. Huh. Thanks! Now it makes sense.

Happy cakeday.

I know right. I wonder if there are any other words that are unexpectedly acronyms.

Just my take but:

Like them or not (and IMV they are a serious threat), China’s system enforces a strategic view, long term, more like a 100yr plan.

We don’t. It’s by election cycle or quarterly earnings report.

These things all make more sense if you see them impassionately, and without an ethical filter, from a long term POV.

China will do what’s best for China in the long term. Irrespective of ‘politics’ that are like ripples upon a rising tide.

I third Mint. Very easy setup (just check your system is compatible before you try).

Also it’s ‘laser’ (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation).

Feature flags baby. This is how we do it.

Make it live but disabled, have an env prior to prod with them on, for any regressions.

Launching your already comprehensively tested and actually live feature? An easy deployment.

Can someone please tell me how to do this for the BE. Ta.

No worries. Thought it was a typo. Bizarre correction for it to make.

Despite these concessions, dozens of Redditors promised to stop using the site altogether without access to their favorite browsing apps. But according to data from the website analytics firm SimilarWeb, traffic has largely remained consistent to the platform, aside from a pronounced dip during the blackout

Came here to recommend nuking it with Linux to get a much slicker experience but I see everyone else had the same idea.

Also gtf off chrome.

Lol what. As a parent, school times are when you can actually get shit done. Half term/school holidays are when you have the least free time.

This is of course assuming one doesn’t have staff, as she clearly will. What unmitigated bollocks.

It is normal to disrupt and jam all communication ahead of an invasion.

IEDs, tactical comms etc.

First he came for escrow services, and I said nothing, because I didn’t know anything about escrow services.

Then he came for cars, and I’m not a huge car kinda guy so meh.

Then he came for rockets, and a rocket scientist I am not.

Then he did something, I think, about tunnels. Who knows about tunnels? Anyone?

And then he came for software/social media, and I, and a whole shedload of people happen to know a fair bit about software and social media, and then we knew he was an idiot, and it was too late.

In b4 politics…

Oh wow this is real.

Nice, someone congratulated him in the comments. 😂

Sorry I was busy this weekend.

Just be yourself.

Oh yeah ok. Thanks. That fixes everything.

Ads aside, I see they’re making the terrible mistake Apple Music made by blurring the distinction between your own content, and promoted content.

Ditto. No issues with Lemmy here. I mean, there were a couple of annoying communities (to me anyway) but it was easy to block them.

Generally I’ve not noticed any toxic behaviour otherwise. At all.

In fact I was somewhat taken aback at the quality of responses to my last post. It’s going to take me days to research all the options and advice I was given. And from what I could see, most if not all the comments were informative and interesting.

The signal to noise ratio here is excellent, even if the numbers of comments etc are lower.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Repeat.

Male. Lack of emotional intimacy from anyone. Really difficult making proper, deep friendships. Resultant chronic loneliness. Pressure (ingrained since birth) to stifle emotions, stiff upper lip etc. Trying not to pass this bullshit down to my son.

Best: I’m busy, we’re always making stuff, shipping stuff, it’s productive and interesting. Rarely is any single day the same. No scope for boredom.

Worst: Bloody hell, I’m busy. I need to prioritise better, and delegate more. There’s never enough time in the day to get through everything, and my low priority items are perpetually shifted forward into the next week.

Welcome muhyb, welcome.

Come sit down and rest. We have vintage memes on draught. There are many refugees here. It is good.

That’s the one where patients went to after the bombing. The one hit, according to the article, was the Al-Ahli Hospital.

You should be proud. It’s a beautiful country.

I refer to our sysadmin as a BOFH and he doesn’t seem to mind. The younger devs don’t know the term without googling it.

The sysadmin column feels so right.

My first thought too. I do hope we don’t introduce more nanoplastics into the world for the sake of some unnecessarily high tech clothing.

A/S/L folks!

Nice. Signal jammer gets free drugs.

Truth. There’s a nice, positive vibe here.

Nearly 9 years for me. Thousands of comments and links. Nuked the lot. Mixed feelings but to hell with spez.

No heavy petting please.

Hah yes. Packing.

We were allowed one trunk to take to school. Regardless of weight, you could take whatever you could fit in the trunk.

Needless to say, that when a family member complains they can’t fit any more into their bag, generally I’ll be able to repack it with loads of space left.

I too, have too many bags. And I managed to get my camping base weight down to about 8kg. Am not rich enough (or mad enough) to go full ultralight. This is with creature comforts.

Hah yes we try and ‘balance’ it all. He’s a voracious reader, loves his rugby and we try and get out of the house as much as possible when it’s not continuously raining, thanks Britain.

Same here. Lovely and absurd.

Welcome, refugee. I was part of the Apollo exodus, and haven’t regretted it. Hard to define exactly why, but I reckon there’s a nicer vibe here.

Let me guess, is this that Ryan kid who opens all the toys. Essentially 100% product placement? That kid has a high chance of going postal one day.
