If you resell tickets for 600$ in profit, you’re not “the people”, you’re a scalper and I have no sympathy for you. This is a good rule.

Even Jesus thought so. "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's" means exactly that.

The answer is in the question.

To be fair they can’t complain about Biden being black or wearing a tan suit…

As opposed to what? Samsung, Intel, AMD and NVIDIA and others are also “rolling their own silicon”. If a vulnerability like that was found in intel it would be much more problematic.

They did buy a superior client. Alien Blue it was called. Then internal politics killed it. Even today Alien Blue would still be a better experience, without any updates in the last five years.

People made excuses like that for Trump in 2016. Turns out he did exactly what he said he would. The country did a full Pikachu face.

Believe DeSantis when he says stuff like this. And also consider his record in Florida doing exactly that.

It’s a good thing that Engineer is a protected profession and not everyone can claim it, like Lawyer or Doctor.

In the US now it’s “oh you’re an engineer? Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?”

But I heard people disagree with some of his stances, so it’s a coin toss between him and that other guy who quotes Hitler /s

TBF in the Star Trek universe they also do get transparent aluminum earlier than stopping the wars.

49% of Americans can’t afford a 1000$ emergency. I can see why you would use your credit card, try to pay it with your next paycheck, paycheck is late (because of course it is) then miss credit card payment.

Those are very thin margins that a lot of Americans deal with.

I’m not giving extra credit for the most bare minimum job.

Might as well give him credit for not shooting anyone on his way to the parking lot.

For added context, Shultz is the school board president here. The stunt didn’t change the vote and the new policy that was being protested is the same as other schools in the area that didn’t have any problems regarding dressing.

“YouTube Money”. Get it right.

So are we not calculating the amount of training the junior dev took?

This is the shadiest of excuses. “AWS changed something and now we cannot serve files and offer the game”. WTF is that. Anyone with a programming 101 can see this is bullshit.

“The flag can’t be racist, it has black flag friends.” - Haley probably (note she’s used that excuse for herself already)

Misusing meme templates is a long programminghumor tradition.

In case you don’t know, you’re trying to use logic against someone who didn’t use logic to get his wrong opinion.

Maybe you can. But the thing about statistics like that it’s that they avoid saying “the average person”, and problems with averages is that half of the people are under it.

If it’s not just made up data in the first place.

Democrats didn’t wait three years to provide evidence in the Trunp impeachment. The Ukraine call thing took less than four months to provide evidence.

Depends which origin story you’re following. In the Spiderverse some Spidermen have the natural property of shooting webs, while others built their own web shooters.

I’m not too much into the comics, but even between Spiderman 1-3 and Amazing Spiderman 1,2 (the movies) that’s a difference.

The Spiderman in the MCU built his own web shooter and could adjust the formula. It also means he can run out when plot requires.

There’s already a compatibility layer. Microsoft had one before Rosetta 2 was available. You can test it yourself with many windows on arm dev builds that exists, or with a Mac running windows in a VM.

Verdict; not as good as Apple (not sure how it compares with the one from Linux) but good enough. https://beebomal.pages.dev/posts/apple-s-rosetta-2-vs-windows-x86-emulation-explained/

SLOs and SLAs are a thing. And yes, they do and can guarantee power to enterprises that pay for it. So it’s not a matter of “if” but, like all things Texans, “how much”.

Jordan is a democrat plant, obviously.

Edit: this is a joke, I didn’t want to insult all the plants. I love plants. I hate Jordan.

Sure, but how many people are casting uncommitted or seeing how unpopular Biden is and are going to stay home in November because of it? My guess is not zero.

I get the protest and the timing, but it’s unclear if it’s really inoffensive in the general.

In before poisoning your comments on Reddit turns into the new protest.

Hobbies. If you like hiking find a hiking group. If you like board games find a board game group. If you like painting get in a class… you get the idea.

There is, but it doesn’t cover PACs. He’s technically not been using campaign fund, but asking supporters to give for his campaign with some very specific fine print to say they’re actually giving the PAC to do as they please.

It’s shady but not illegal.

That makes a great song jingle but it’s been proven that you are more a product of words around you than you want to admit in your comment.

Digg is still around. MySpace is still a thing. Hell, you can still download and run ICQ (though I think it’s run by a Russian company now).

There’s not a lot of real dead products on the internet. They just fade slowly behind the bushes, and I think X/Twitter is getting there.

Haven’t seen anyone mention this one, so let’s go.

The most fascinating cheese would be Casu Martzu (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casu_martzu). It is illegal to produce and consume pretty much everywhere, including in Sardinia where it is produced and was invented. It is the world most dangerous cheese, and people have died eating it.

The Wikipedia articles goes into how it is produced, but essentially you leave a good old pecorino outside with some rind removed to allow flies to put their eggs in the cheese. The larvae then consume the cheese and ferment it further. You need to eat it while the larvae are still alive, although the larvae can survive your digestive system and grow in our intestine. Traditionally you should eat the maggots, but you don’t have to.

I would never eat it, mind you, but it is definitely fascinating that such a thing exists.

Maybe you didn’t recognize the AI images in the wild and assumed they were human made. It’s a survival bias; the bad AI pictures are easy to figure out, but we might be surrounded by them and would not even know.

Same as green screens in movies. It’s so prevalent we don’t see them, but we like to complain a lot about bad green screens. Every time you see a busy street there’s a 90+ % chance it’s a green screen. People just don’t recognize those.

The just plain wrong. When you vote for speaker you also vote the rules in. Dems will not vote for the same set of rules and likely go back to a traditional and more sane set of rules.

Where are you that minimum wages are going up?

It’s not a fork though. It’s a complete rewrite in another programming language. That’s way more effort than a petty project.

The truth is, this might succeed based on developer reach. I love Rust, but I know it won’t have the reach (yet) that Java can, and more developers mean faster progress.

In the end, between this, Lemmy or another project which may be a fork of either, the success will be due to efforts of everyone involve at every stage. This wouldn’t exist without Lemmy, and Lemmy wouldn’t exist with ActivityPub.
