They think we're cattle, but cattle won't eat the rich.

I have always told folks that I managed, that I'm nothing without them. Yea, I have a MBA as well, but man, are alot of those business folks short sighted to a fault. Like lack of empathy and foresight.

If your KPI's are based around having a knowledge worker in a chair in a room, your business should die.

Plain and simple.

Having issues hacking time?

I remember that thing... My grandpa had one. It was ... Interesting.

Lot of love for GitLab, it's a solid enterprise product.

Yeah, it feels like pandering crap for sure.

Yeah, I think alot of media outlets just don't understand the fedi... Or much TBH πŸ˜‚

Eh, I definitely think it could be better and but still approachable.

I mean, it's no secret that the SteamDeck is a huge reason why. Praise Gaben, may we game on every platform equally.

I hate everything about this photo... Really, like everything. I mean, this really is a genuine shit post. Like if I wasn't so flabbergasted, I would just closed my browser and go back what I was doing. But here we are... OPs fish abomination and my eye balls, now married in a photonic exchange that I wish never happened... You win OP.

Can you adjust it to 4:3?

ITT, very salty IT guys... I'd rather folks use Excel then some home made stuff. That's the real nightmare fuel. VB, not .net, just VB, from 1995. You'll beg to have bad Excel after you deal with that stuff. 😡😱😭

I believe there is a RSS option. Try https://mastodon.world/@lemmyworld.rss

The Google form results go only to the management team of our parent non-profit, no one else sees the responses. If you feel that this is not secure enough, you can send a secure PGP email to our security disclosure address. We DO provide it for folks that need more security.

At this time, our current budget only provides room for operational costs, such as hosting. We're all volunteers, even Ruud.

What the fuck is a "lamba server less", and why is my cloud bill so fucked? πŸš’ πŸ”₯ πŸ’° πŸ’Έ

Object storage. Sorry if that was unclear ❀️

Like the quality of content has gone up over the last month... Like a lot! So don't sweat it. We'll get there, but it's gonna take a few years. In it for the long haul. Heck I was on Reddit for like 7-10 YEARS, this is brand spanking new ❀️

Yeah, it's super neat letting everyone talk with everyone. Reminds me of the old IRC days! ❀️

YES! During the upgrade window ONLY πŸ˜…. Our DR plan is pretty tight, some great DBA's on staff. (Ex Ruud)

Gaben is fucking smart and gives a shit.

This has no right to be this funny.

I'd add micro to the list of editors. It's really nice step up from nano.

I mean, alot of content services suck, but Steam killed game piracy IMHO. 90% off sales and such.

That's the whole thing. It's not about the software per say, it's about the users and the whole concept of a federated internet. We all really believe in bringing back the best of the old internet.

Yeah, and please have EASY setup instructions or complied binaries.

You should see some of the literal data centers folks have in their houses. It's nuts.

I'll take KeepassXC and KeepassDX + SyncThing, just works and I don't have to ever rely on someone else for my most sensitive data.

We would never just drop a whole platform with 1000's of users. Any huge changes like that would 100% have community involvement.

Every damn week...

Yeah, it's junk, sorry ❀️

That joke is old enough to drive... 🀣

Support our troops is a hollow catch phrase...

Holy smokes. 1000x this. You want Linux to be popular, stop gatekeeping it and being a hipster. OSX is a great example of how to make a Unix like OS popular with NORMAL people.

Grandma doesn't care what kernel she's running and ... Hint hint, neither do I. I just want my computer to work and be easy to maintain.

I run Ubuntu, not because it's the best, but became it just works. I might swap to Mint or PopOS, but that takes time out of my life which I'd rather spend coding or working out.

You want Linux to win on the desktop, you have to get manufacturers to make it the default, and good luck getting Dell or HP to change.

Heck most folks don't even own a computer now a days.

Be happy Android won on mobile and Linux won on servers. ❀️

I know it gets some flack here, but they really got a lot of people into Linux and helped the whole FOSS world immeasurably.

You can use different manufacturers, just make sure they are the SAME size and speed. You can also get the same ones from the same vendor, just from different online shops to try and offset getting a bad batch.

Don't do that, they keep track. When you go over $1k, you get fucked and picked up for a felony.

There are some folks that know both how to run a business well and are passionate about the technology, but they are rare unfortunately. More common in smaller organizations at least.
