The mere presence of a cop, even without a visible weapon, will escalate any situation regarding mentally unstable people. Period.
If you don't understand why a person going through a crisis would freak out when a figure of (ultimately violent) power appears right after they picked a weapon you have a serious problem with basic empathy.
For the record, I haven't had any bad experiences with cops, in fact every interaction I've had so far has been either neutral or actually pretty nice. I've had my fair share of breakdowns as a teenager tho, and I can assure you that a cop would've never helped a single time. Even the nicest one.

Oh hacking a 2ds was one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. For starters, all 3ds to gbc games run natively, and that's already a lot more games I could play in a lifetime. Then i can emulate almost any retro console there and it's dead easy to find replacement batteries and such. 0 bullshit needed. Not an ad in sight.

Except FOSS explicitly implies the user is free (as in freedom, not 0$), and the software isn't a product or service, but a tool.
That line only applies when a non-free service or software that's supposed to be meant for profit doesn't have a clear money income. Don't compare "oh how generous is google for giving me free email and drive for no shady reasons at all" to "i host my own email and cloud using foss projects".
Also, windows is basically spyware with a bit of unoptimized OS on top and you still (should) pay for it.
Trusting someone for convenience isn't ideal, but not everyone has the time and resources to audit, compile, and host a dumb frontend for yt. Most of the people here is good enough trusting literally anyone except a big tech company, including FOSS devs, the people who check the code, and public instances of their software. Even considering recent drama (solved by the community btw) I'd trust any FOSS project over google any day.

Hard agree on this. Sell software and services to companies, only sell services to end users. I believe both selling your service as a dev and selling a service behind a free app are compatible with copyleft.

Thanks, this is what i was talking about. I think i eat a healthy amount of meat, mostly white ones because of health and because istg chickens in specific have no souls. Most argumens you used can actually be outweighed by "i just like meat a lot", which is fine, but they are still relevant to choose what meat. I mean compare, in terms of ethics, health, sustainability, and even taste a McDonald's and a halal butcher shop.
What i try to say is that respect is just as important, if not more, than ethics; and you need both along with a little bit of reading to get a balanced point of view.
...Biggest problem is I'm broke af and bad meat is cheaper than good meat and no meat, ethics are a luxury not everyone can afford 🥲
Blame apple for that. IPhone has this proprietary messaging app pre-installed which is probably super convinient for the ecosystem but uses some obsolete SMS protocol to communicate with android phones. I think recently this has gotten better, but only because beeper and the EU pressing on them
It would be interesting tho to use a LLM to spot AI/SEO crap and add whole domains to a search blacklist. In that case we wouldn't need AI to do the actual search, and this could easily just be a database for end users by the SE's side (kinda like explicit content filters).
I'd call that option "Bullspam filter" and leave it on "moderate" by default.
