Use docker compose . Like "everyone" uses it. If the service doesn't have a compose file, request it, or write it yourself as son as you are knowledgable enough.

Use podman as soon as people and services switch to it (you'll know when the latest tutorials talk about podman instead of docker).

Use ngingx proxy manager or another easy to use reverse proxy.

Don't think it's production ready after it was working 2 days. It may be, but it's unlikely you have enough knowledge how to fix things.

Automatic updates.

Don't install crap on the system.

Apparently?

Quoting without source?

5gb for 4k?

That's a hell of a compression algorithm.

Double clicking the titlebar makes a window big as well. Has always been like that. It's just a convenient shortcut.

Got an alternative?

Xiaomi/ Redmi is responsible for what you can install and what not.

Their OS is horrible. You can't even use another launcher. I'd give it back or sell it or install linux if that's possible

What do you mean ublue has flatpak included in the image?

Apparently, when the box is not ticked, it doesn't mean that everything within the box is unticked and disabled. When the box is not ticked, you just can't switch their state anymore.

Bug or on purpose?

Anyway, you have to enable asking, then unticking the relay box and then you can disable asking again.

Radarr has the option to link the files when it imports them. Look in the settings

Use Hard links instead of Copy - Use Hard links when trying to copy files from torrents that are still being seeded

https://wiki.servarr.com/radarr/settings

https://trash-guides.info/Hardlinks/Hardlinks-and-Instant-Moves/

I've never managed to get it working. But I always have to do thing multiple times until it works.

"Just Perfection" to the rescue

If you donate, dev doesn't have to pay taxes. If you buy, dev becomes more popular because one more sale.

Advice?

It's an interesting and linux centric video about proton

How long until you start doing backups? 😂

Edit: Took me some years btw

What. That's crazy!

I'd recommend fedora kinoite https://fedoraproject.org/kinoite/ because noone can fuck up the system unintentionally

Copy paste?

I have no idea what syncterm is, a link would be useful. I can only find scetchy things.

But you write that it's available for debian. Then just use distrobox and installl syncterm in a debian image and export it.

  1. Install distrobox https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Distrobox
  2. Use prefered image https://github.com/toolbx-images/images
  3. Use debians package manager and install package
  4. Export if needed https://github.com/89luca89/distrobox/blob/main/docs/usage/distrobox-export.md
  5. Enjoy

Why is your title in english, while the speech is in francaise?

Just check it out. Having both installed is ok.

Librewolf is just firefox with arkenfox. Read arkenfox and you'll know what you get.

Iirc, I had to set that firefox doesn't open everything in the browser but downloads the pdfs to disk. It was in the settings.

I really didn't get the idea why I had to save pdfs manually. To me, it feels weird to not save pdfs automatically but I understand you if you rarely safe a pdf.

Only disable iirc - but it has the same effect 😊

Immich does not take care of tags which is very bad if you already have an existing setup and tagged images for years.

Edit: newest release (4 hours) supports editing metadata. I did not yet see tags

I agree linux can be very difficult but easy as well if you do not have "exotic" needs. If more people were using linux, especially more non techies, a lot would change but we'll get there just slowly.

to respond to your points

I initially thiught you meant that you had to use commands in order to tinker with the UI - that's my bad!

Wifi card, drivers, etc. can be a real pain. That's neither linux or your fault. It's just that noone prior to you wanted to use it and that's why it wasn't yet supported. Most systems are just plug and play. - compare it to macos, and you'll find that linux is easy to install on most systems.

Auto mount is done using fstab right. Yoz xna also auto mount from the file explorer of the disk utility, it always depends on the system. There are a lot of different things and it's not perfect.

Dual booting is in my opinion something for advanced people. I have no idea why anyone would ever suggest it to a newcomer! It's pain in the ass if you deviate from the standard protocol.

Xou can double click on a shell script (.sh) by chmod +x file.sh or > right click > properties > exe as program

Why not just installing the drivers?

I'd really like to know how you evaluate the following topic. Mozilla's CEO earns 7 million. Mozilla asks for 3.3 million in donations. Please evaluate pro and con and draw a conclusion.

Thats what I said, only scetchy sites.

How would you like it if, from now on, I'd make my post titles in Dutch and the post body in Swedish?

Yeah, deal breaker :D I'm not interested in mac software
