NK will imprison their family if they defect, that's the main thing keeping people in NK I believe.

I don't think Frasier would work without Frasier

Will the North Koreans get sufficient rations? It might be no worse than being at home.

Losing an entire generation of productive and reproductive people is not going to do their nation any good.

They work in tech, promotions are achieved by moving employers. Internal mobility is always terrible in tech companies.

They are invading a country unprovoked . The country is made up of civilians. Weren't they breaking international law when the first shot was fired?

Imagine if they had instead hired 500,000 people on $100,000 each. They could have bought the entire city of Detroit and had it making Teslas, instead they've got one coked up narcissist.

But these poor black people can't count to five!

How fucking patronizing.

As a citizen of a country with ranked choice voting the hardest thing is choosing which of the loonies you want to put last!

My wife used to like Motley Crue so when I found cheap tickets to their farewell tour about 8 years ago we went along. What a clusterfuck it was. A bunch of fat old men trying to relive their glory years from 30 years earlier. Vince could barely catch a breath while he walked around the stage.

The truly funny bit was that the support act was Alice Cooper and his show was amazing as always.

Recently some colleagues mentioned wanting to see Motley Crue when they tour soon and I told them not to.

He believes that all leaders are raised up by the hand of God. Better get those sainthoods lined up for Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Putin, Mugabe, etc.

It's so much so that every news article that quotes it still says "X, formerly Twitter".

I have young kids and recently learned what Roblox actually is. My kids will never be allowed to spend a cent on that. I am happy to buy them suitable games.

I'm a man and I'd much rather smell like vanilla and passionfruit. I don't need more help to smell like fuel.

I think they should just have rows of bunk beds. It's much easier to stack something flat than people with their awkward bends at the hips and knees.

Nothing says marketing genius like throwing away one of the most recognisable brands in the industry and replacing it with "X"

Wordpad is for looking at and editing rich text, not txt files. It's not a big deal because no one uses rtf.

Now if only it would stop dropping leading zeros unless you ask it, and we got rid of the MM/DD/yyyy date format entirely.

The difference is that Vietnam and Afghanistan were civil wars. It's very difficult to win a war when a sizable portion of the citizens are fighting against you. Ukraine seems to be very united against a common enemy: Russia.

And 10 microns at what temperature? Because on something the size of a car, made of mixed materials, thermal expansion of less than a degree is going to blow that figure.

They couldn't apply paint to a tolerance of 10microns.

Isn't this just the road trying to solve the problem for us? I say we should have more ditches and guardrail barriers!

If only the phone operating system allowed you to load applications from somewhere other than the official app store. Someone should make a phone that does that.

So there's finally a line: "you must be this shit to get fired". I expect a lot of people toeing up to it.

That explains why it's all commercial stuff now.... So I heard.

I actually think the app was the best part of Uber (not necessarily the Uber app, but the concept). In my city it used to be annoying to catch a taxi; you either had to line up at a rank, or call and wait and hope that your taxi turned up. Apps allowed you to order a car to wherever you were - normally with just a few minutes notice. I rarely use either now but I believe that taxis have comparable options now.

They should have just kept incrementally upgrading W10. People don't like big changes and there's not much encouraging people to 11 except 10 going EOL.

I agree, Hunter Biden should not hold the role of US President. Now, can you they back to work?

Bush was an average student academically, not excelling but also not failing. He excelled in social skills though. He was able to remember names and details of everyone in a room. He was convivial and enthusiastic. He was a member of many clubs, groups, and societies. He was proof that being liked is sometimes more important than being smart.

Trump is not either. He's proof that if you keep telling people that you're better than them then lots of them will believe you.

Last year we got a new GM. The first thing she said was "everyone is coming into work 5 days a week". We lost every one of our senior staff in under a year and the rule was never enforced anyway. We're back 2 and 3 office and home again now.

In many more civilised places it is legal and regulated.

Did they honestly try to argue that oral contracts are not binding? I mean it's easy to pretend they didn't happen, but if you admit you said it then it's a contract.

It was the biggest inauguration auto workers really ever. Bigger than Biden's!

The original Star Wars movies were probably really good and genre defining in the late 70s, but they're just boring and campy now.

I spent a lot of time in a few forums in the 00s. Many of them still exist but they are shells of what they used to be. One that I check into once a year or so has about one post per year - and it's normally a post asking if anyone is still there. The owner keeps it running as a memorial to one of the mods who has passed.

I'm sure the parole board will take note.

The US rolled our democratically elected government in the 70s and we still lick their boots to this day. You'd be forgiven for thinking I was talking about a country in the third world, but I'm talking about Australia.
