yeah, keep backups.

i've got some a few old games bought on floppies or cds that are knackered now. A few of them i've ended up buying again from gog.

homeoftheunderdogs used to be awesome in like the year 2001. But now I think it only has either freeware or links to a google searches where the fiiles used to be.

soulseek, yes that is cool , some extreme niches covered on there. That probably is better than napster was in some ways.

Don't worry I don't use that for my internet bank: 19513FDC9DA4FB72A4A05EB66917548D3C90FF94D5419E1F2363EEA89DFEE1DD

That quiz was way too hard, there were about 3 questions that I couldn't answer so I just had to guess randomly.

Anyway i got kill bill - so i think i must have guessed wrong. I don't remeber ever owning a sword, or a yellow jumpsuit; I did have a yellow raincoat once and i have a swiss army knife.

I think Sightseers would have been a better choice. Or fight club if they did a remake without any of the Tyler Durden stuff.

liveusb or vm - try before you don't buy - especially if you have a tonne of specifoc requirements. distro doesn't really matter.

In linux i think qemu/kvm is preferred for virtual machines - it's a bit fiddly, but i think it performs better and fuck oracle.

You can transfer the game with a wish scroll.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I paid an independent IT security consultant lot of money to help me come up with it - so I don't want to have to change it.

It's the points on the licence that really matters for speeding though in my country. When they accumulate enough points they get banned from driving for a period like a year or maybe more.

I hope this applies to meta. I'm pretty sure it doesn't though.

Trying to sell 'owt without becoming a sell-out.

windows ftw (forced through work) linux btw (because tortuous work)

nope - but the start menu has been dogshit for years now, so I try to avoid start menu as much as possible- I use pinned icons and a few desktop shortcuts.

I mostly use win key fo:

  • win+D
  • win+E
  • win + arrow
  • win+shift+S
  • win+R
  • ctrl+shift +win+B (dodgy usb-c port replicator needs to be slapped every now and again)
  • win+L , i probly use that less than ctrl alt del to lock.

Britain left of centre ? . . . these are blairites, "labour" in name only , they literally propped up the second homes buy to let market through the 2000s. and they'd gladly privatise every public service we have left if they can. I've already heard shit like "individualised healthcare" being mentioned in their "think tanks".

They're probably not worse than the tories, and they probably will fuck it up less, that's about all you can hope for them.

They aren't going to tackle anything fundamental like bank regulation, promoting domestic investment, industrial strategy or developing public services.

I hope France gets a lot better.

If >1 special character is not allowed the last check should be failed . The second check is literally satisfied even if there are 2+ specials.

I'd not be using that bank.

Call the Sales/new accounts line and see how long it takes them to pick up.

It's a province in the Netherlands. It's only \ few hundred km from legoland in Denmark - the dude should get out more - I bet he only goes to the central bit of Old Amsterdam.

I think you might be missing the part where memes are not real. aur is useful. arch wiki is useful.

I like the infinite battery life, massive fold out screen size, and great daytime contrast ratio and glare filter. regularly for hiking.

My opinion is pretty much based on their manifesto. I don't see how they can do anything progressive when their mandate is based on that bag of shite.

it's called taking a "selfpee"

Please don't get a job where you have windows, cloud, sharepoint , dynamics and one drive forced on you (plus a load of oracle). it makes you fucking hate computers.

If you're bothered about overall waste, consider that some batteries degrade slower if you charge slower. I tend to prefer a slow charger when i can.

oh man that's crazy. I always thought it was short for Gwendolyn.

my whole university email server was accessed via telnet. So everyone used tty for email.

I think there may have been a gui or mail app that you coud point to it, but no one did. There was about a million(trillian?) gui's people used for icq messaging though.

cloud storage is not a backup. This should be engraved on all computers.

one drive is not even "storage" really - it's more of a embryonic car crash waiting for an unwitting pedestrian to step in front.

If for whatever reason any masochists are using onedrive, tthey really need to know about proper backup .

So paying higer profit share or wage to construction wokers won't encouage more people to spend more time building stuff?

Did no one tell you about how competetive markets work? supernormal profits get bid down by market entry.

banks and oligopolistic top tier construction companies, and landowners don't want more construction, or entry into the market.

by your logic we should just offer people slave contracts and they'd opt in.

You can add them as non-steam games - via steam in desktop mode.

Others have mentioned various tools or launchers that make it easier. I didn't like any of those tools though so I just add the games manually - i only have a 4-5 on there at a a time and i dont get through games very fast.
