I got the time-zone wrong and missed the first hour. Biden seemed fine to me - what the heck did I miss in the first hour?

Remember when SCOTUS threw out laws against gays? Then a bunch of states passed constitutional amendments against gay marriage? Then SCOTUS came and said "Na, none of that means anything, gay marriage for all!"

I feel like I am on the other side of that process this time: SCOTUS throws out Roe, bunch of states do constitutional amendments, SCOTUS rules "Na, none of that means anything, all abortions are now illegal!"

Since when was this court consistent with prior rulings?

Does it lead to the death of all Hamas? If yes, Hamas will not be on board. If no, Israel will not be on board.

Just look at India's court system (or the US immigration court system). Backlogs as far as the eye can see! Selective enforcement mixed with laws criminalizing everyone means those in charge can pardon or prosecute whomever they want.

That is until AI gets beyond the toddler with no object permanence stage and suddenly the backlog starts disappearing and all the politicians start retroactively legalizing everything.

Sort of makes me want to write that novel I've been putting off where a website pops up with a list of social security numbers + date + GPS + criminal statute code, and it turns out to be a list of the biggest crimes committed by each politician. No one knows where the list came from, but as each politician resigns, new sets of numbers pop up for their replacement.

Ah, but Robbin Williams didn't go on a year later to actually BECOME president.

Is that a 65% chance of a Trump electoral college or popular vote victory? I think last time it predicted that Hillary would win the popular vote. Then she did.

Zúñiga referenced that paralysis during the rebellion, telling reporters the military was tired of the infighting and was seeking “to restore democracy.”

The infighting between the two parties is what democracy is. One party getting everything it wants and the other nothing is called a dictatorship.

Could we seal Biden in a germ-free bubble a week before the next debate? The last thing you want Biden sounding like is sickly - he had a cold today and COVID last time they debated in 2020.

"Biden can’t be persuaded let alone pressured"

Which sums up both Biden's strength and all his problems in one statement.

But did he pardon the Navy's LGBTQ+ ringleader, Dorthy?

Meanwhile, North Korea just stated that they will be sending troops to the Donbas

Is... is this reverse Fetterman? Did Trump have a stroke and become a democrat?

Everyone is talking about society or physiology stuff. That is just things that might get humans.

Stars going super-nova is the real great filter. Our sun is 4.6 billion years old. Life started 4 billion years ago. In 4 billion years, the sun goes supernova. We are halfway to the end of the earth.

Smaller stars last longer, but have smaller ranges that life can exist in - and planets tend to move in or out in their orbits. Bigger stars have giant habitable zones - but some large stars born when humans took their first steps are in their last decades of life. You couldn't get from the pyramids to NASA in that time, never mind the 4 billion years it took to get to humans.

Has Trump been coherent for anything recently? Can they, through whatever means, get him into a coherent state for this?

This will be done more and more until the first crash. Then everyone will freak out and everything will be grounded. The engineers will point out that statistically the flights done this way were safer ( 1 million miles were flown by AI in the last 3 years with only one incident. The same done by commercial pilots would have caused 3.5 incidents!)

Then other incidents will be dredged up. Some won't be actual incidents, some won't be the fault of the AI, and some will be because a human overrid AI control. However, the public will firmly be on the side of only humans should fly planes. Laws will be drafted. Then loopholes for "drones" will be made. A decade later these loopholes will be large enough to fly a 737 through.

No one will remember why they were put in place in the first place, but one political party will be firmly against removing the laws. It will take another generation for them to finally be removed, and by that point computers will be so far integrated with humans that biological humans might be banned from flying under the law if things didn't change.

Hopefully, people will look back on this and say, lol, no, that post was edited in 2035, but good try.

Trump hit with huge fine he can't pay -> Rumors of Trump trying to raise money from foreign governments -> Lawyers push back, say 'you can't just accept half a billion from foreigners to pay the fine, there are rules!' -> Truth Social IPO raises a bunch of money that (foreign) investors are willing to 'loose' when the stock inevitably collapses -> Trump puts up the stock as collateral to pay the bond to pay the fine.

What? He can't sell his stock for 6 months? No, he isn't selling it, he is putting it up for collateral, totally legal, totally won't be investigated by the SEC until he gets elected and fires the head of the SEC and the lawsuit goes away.

Forget Trump, they indicted his Wisconsin lawyer Cheesebro! Do you know what this means? That Trump had a Wisconsin lawyer named "Cheesebro"!

Trump's civil trials: Half a billion in fines, lost ability to do business in New York.

Trump's Jan 6 Federal case: stuck with SCOTUS deciding on presidential immunity by looking at polls in September.

Trump's Stolent document case: postponed until an inept judge can figure out how to have a trial where one of the exhibits is "stolen plans to assassinat all current world leaders: CIA, do not distribute" without all world leaders catching wind.

Trump's Georga interference case: Trying to get the other 10 defendants guilty before going after Trump

This was the only case that could have given him prison time before the election. Let's see the judge screw it up.

Biden should just invite RFK to take Trump's place if he doesn't show up. RFK would then draw from Trump voters, splitting the anti-Biden vote.

From the figures I found, Trump increased the debt by $6.7 trillion while Biden increased it by $2.5 trillion (over three of his four years). Note that the first year of spending for any president is controlled by the last president, so 2020 spending was Trump's, but also 2016 was Obama's.

Looking at just proposed programs, Biden's student loan plan would have cost 0.4 trillion, or $400 billion. Meanwhile, Trump's 'tax repatriation holiday' (companies illegally hiding money overseas to avoid taxes, make one year where you don't get taxes for bringing the money back to USA) cost taxpayers $465 billion.

One piece is the definition of "It's the journey, not the destination." Nothing the One Piece could actually be would be worth 23 years worth of content hyping it up.

(I myself am still a fan of the "one-(head)-piece" that make someone a king, but has to be an item that has been around since the first season theory. Gee, I wonder what that head-piece could be?)

"Support Joe Biden" - Yes.

"Support particular policies of Joe Biden" - No.

Democrats are not a cult of personality. We can disagree with particular things the president does without wanting to see him defeated.

Just a reminder if you are worried about your children being ogled by trans people in the "wrong" restroom: There are ten gays for every one trans person, so the likelihood of being ogled by people in the "right restroom" should be ten times higher. The solution is not to police who uses what restroom, but to design restrooms that don't allow for ogling!

I swear, the only proof of a grand gay conspiracy I've ever found is the bathtub urinal. Walls, people, real walls, not plywood separators that have gaps between the doors and opening on the bottom.

There was a joke on Rick and Morty that Rick got the Palestinians and the Israelis to sign the treaty of "peace plan that works if you think about it a bit".

I am sure every commenter has one of those plans in their back pocket that would work if implemented. The problem is there is no incentive. In Palestinine, Hamas grows stronger the more Palestinians hate Isreal, and their opposition grows stronger the more Palestinians want peace. Meanwhile Likud grows stronger the more Israelis hate Palestinians, and the opposition grows stronger when Israelis want peace. Why would either side implement something that would decrease their power?

Was coming here to complain about this compared to the rail strike - found out that Biden actually got the rail strikers what they wanted in this thread.

Now I've got to complain something else. Hmmm, how about how Biden isn't proud of his union support. Make noise! Show that unions actually work! Stop acting like unions winning is something is something that you should be ashamed of and hide. Good, still got to complain about something.

They HAD dirt. Then it was exposed - and nothing came of it. Now they think they are invincible, even if people have dirt.

MAGA SCOTUS justices in this case, MAGA judge in the classified docs case, MAGA prosecutor in the Georgia case ... good thing we hit him with four cases at the same time.
