Certain irony in these companies splitting their content and now considering merging it back.

I'm glad I could contribute to their lack of profit by simply not paying any of them.

In a nutshell (eli5) swap is sorta "very slow ram" which is actually just a section of your hard drive /SSD/some other bizarre medium. It is generally used to temporarily store information that might be needed later but would waste valuable "fast ram" which is your actual ram sticks.

What's going on here is this user mounted Google drive in a way that the operating system can interact more directly with it, and it appears to have a set amount of space. Because we've mounted Google Drive we can tell our operating system to use it as swap....very very slow silly swap, but swap nonetheless.

So that's exactly what they did, they told the operating system to set aside X amount of Google Drive for swap, and when looking at the resource monitor we can see the "swap" appears as "more ram".

Hope that helps, please ask if I confused you :)

What irks me about this is I own an ev (not a Tesla obviously fiat 500e) and I slog/bash that thing through mud/snow/rain/several inches of water on the regular and even do what id consider rally driving with it at times and it's fine. You know why? Because this was always a Tesla engineering failure and not an ev failure. But it sucks because people will think ev= unable to get wet which just is not true.

Hit report issue to confuse their algorithms lol

I think this is a good move. Plenty of PPP money was handed out to the wrong people for the wrong reasons. It was a loan after all and the people I'm talking about sure seems to hate the idea of student loans being forgiven.

Oh hey their return to office demand wasn't about productivity it was a soft layoff like everyone said wow.

The tshirt says "monster fucker" so the person is saying "I'd fuck that" to which the biblically accurate angel is saying "ew" in reply to.

What a fucking idiotic war mongler. We should be strengthening our ties to Mexico not fucking starting a war.

Why are we even considering a ~180 yr old law as something relevant today?

I'm glad I think that this seems to be good news but it's absolutely insane to me that it's based on a decision older than some states.

Ah a megacorp not giving a fuck and doing damage control instead. A tale as old as time.

They are in fact very recyclable but these vapes are sold as disposable.

I didn't realize this was a Twitter joke at first and thought this was an xorg/xinit issue

Guess they're already working on the silly transition to death.

To bring the whole thing back in one big circle you can buy a USB to serial RS-232 adapter....which allows you to connect to a serial port...from a "universal" serial bus.

I'm now seeing USB C variants lol.

Also I love your username.

If only NASA could cancel Turnip.

I use 11 for work, and so I tried it at home to really dive into the issues I might have. I generally prefer Linux but have always kept my daily drivers Windows....well until last Friday. I had the explorer shell crash on me causing data loss and really was the last straw. Wiped everything and went to Linux, I'm tired of the games Microsoft. I tolerated your bullshit for YEARS because the core of the OS usually "just worked"....except in recent years that's not true and I don't feel like my computer is "my computer" when windows 10+ is on it.

Is this in a commercially zoned area? If not shut it down, seems pretty commercial and weird to shield the "miners" from the complaints of their neighbors.

I wanna be crystal clear that even if this is a commercial zone the "mine" should be shut down.

The average user doesn't need Windows.

If you want to automate look into the "Wikiarr" but to answer your question I think many of us are just data hoarders. I try to delete stuff I've watched but I also tend to keep stuff that I've had trouble finding good versions of. I am also building a large music library (currently around 200-250gb) and that's entirely around avoiding crappy streaming services. Most of this collection I either already owned (used to rip ipods id repair for people) or used soulseek/other tools to build.

Personally I'd replace that 10 year old drive as it's probably limited on remaining life even if only lightly used.

This was done already but it seems this particular addition is to address anyone left out the first time.

As someone who suffers from dyslexia myself I'd like to point out this is about Tumblr.

Once upon a time internet explorer dominated the web. The web bowed and catered to the jank that was internet explorer...at least until other browsers gained traction. To this day there are some websites that are only designed with internet explorer in mind.

Potentially letting the bodies hit the floor

Went through warranty replacement for a TV and was simply asked to write "void" and a big X on the warranty sticker. Even had the option to give the almost perfectly fine TV away (I did to someone who greatly benefited from it)

Here have the standard HR answer: sorry we don't have the budget due to outside factors, also we're doing layoffs in your department.

They are perfect at temperature regulation. I have a little 120v unit that even has a hold @ temperature function. Goes as low as 180 and I think as high as 500°

Remember induction heats the pan directly via induction and thus requires cookware that a magnet can stick to. Otherwise faster, more efficient, easy to control

Am in Texas (Dallas area) I commute 33 miles each way in an electric Fiat 500. I actually do feel plenty safe (car is insanely stable but also far safer than my other commuter which is a klr650 motorcycle) but do have issues with road rage. I legitly don't care if someone hits me in this car as it wouldn't be the first time and I have full confidence I'll be safe.......on the other hand I don't appreciate how unsafe large vehicles tend to be nor how difficult they can make visibility.

I used to drive semi trucks for a living and I'd personally pick the Fiat over the Freightliner every time.

Some corporate computers have a way to do this via the bios but it must be preconfigured and can easily be turned off if it hasn't been.

Some people don't think that far ahead. One day their gas bill will be just as bad and they'll still complain.

I've been playing bg3 in nearly max settings at 4k on a RX6700 and it's been nearly flawless. I noticed a bunch of people commenting about higher end 30 series cards, does the game struggle on those?

The biggest issue I've found is the cpu usage. Especially in the city of BG I'll see 8+ cpu cores really getting a workout.
