If you want kids you should have them. You can let fear of the ifs keep you from doing that. I say this being generally opposed to children as well lol

You should work on taking care of yourself/your home before moving to another life that relies fully on you.

Much to the chagrin of a large portion of lemmy users Edge is not actually a bad browser. If you're using a chromium based browser anyway there's really nothing worse about edge than the other options. Obviously not talking about Firefox here.

I'm over Chris Pratt, can we stop giving him truck loads of money, please?

Climate change, when Florida disappears.

Some leadership will actively not promote you, even block attempts by you, if you're at the top of your role and consistently outperforming peers, why would they let you move up? You make them look good right here.

I just imagined a two story house with the stairs removed which is way funnier.

That still doesn't tell me why I should be concerned. Another country having access to good technology doesn't set off alarm bells for me. I guess I need someone to spell out why them being less reliant on the West for tech is concerning. Especially considering how true the opposite has been (in regards to manufacturing) for ages.

Also universal basic income

Had one since launch, first foldable. Zero issues with the interior screen/crease. People need to remember you'll hear about the issues, you won't hear about people just enjoying their device normally.

I disagree with people who say the inside screen is useless. For one, I use it to share pics with family because it's easier for multiple people to view. I also use it for watching videos, it's quite nice.

I am also a remote sys admin. I use the inside screen for RDP/ssh sessions to remote machines for quick weekend maintenance. I will never go back.

Why? I'm not super educated on this matter and can't find anything clear on why this would be bad

Gates is a phony and as scummy as the rest. Hell, his wife basically made him donate as much as he did. Don't forget he kept company with people on the island.

Let's not start shitting on the next generation, please. We promised to be better, so let's make an attempt at empathy yeah? IDK how old you are but keep in mind they're inheriting a dying planet, late stage capitalism, and in general, hopelessness. I'm very securely in the millennial range and we were also shit on heavily when entering the workforce. Be better.

I'm a sys admin that uses windows on my personal machine. I'm not trying to do more work on my own time.

The 1950s are part of the 1900s.. same as 1850 was part of the 1800s. They were just being facetious using "1900s" anyway. That will change as we all get older though, eventually it will just be the 1900s.

Tbf Florida has gone completely off the rails, so much so that conservatives should be concerned..

You're in here a lot with a vaguely apologetic (on lmgs behalf) and victim blaming attitude. Do you work there or some shit?

From my understanding they've been desperately trying not to release it lol

This is a person that blames the workers for the poor working environment that is public facing government jobs. I think there are some other safe assumptions to make...

Without clicking on it I assume it's a live sync for accounts across multiple instances which is a feature folks have been asking for forever. It will help with easing the load on larger instances without having to start over entirely.

Older brother, we live halfway across the country from one another. We play video games almost nightly in Discord as a way to keep in touch. Visits are a couple times a year it wasn't always good but the 5 year age gap gets easier to overcome the older we get. Both in our 30s and we align on most things these days.

Yeah I have literally zero more information lol I'm in the US and feel like I should be concerned because "China" but I'd love a valid reason beyond "they're now capable of sustaining they're own technology".

That was 10 years ago. The further we get from "the 1900s" the broader the term will become to include the whole century, much like the 1800s is 1800-1899. I imagine in another 10-20 years it will be more and more common to see this shift when referencing past events.

ITT: people that can use Lemmy but still lack the ability to identify photoshopped images.

Your DMV workers deserve appreciation too. Your perspective is broken if you don't think so.

Two narcissistic scum bags attempting to sleep with everyone on the planet can't possibly get along.

oh man, I miss the days when that site was enough of a dopamine hit..

Not to mention that COVID season is already starting up again and with things like long COVID still not being understood fully it's absolutely ridiculous that people are being herded back into an office.

She should not have needed to push back more nor should anyone need to "push back more" in their job. That's victim blaming.

I am glad they helped! I am new to this as well so after piecing all the steps together I wanted to make sure it was easier for other first timers.

What in the boot licking fuck is this?

Plus one for Porkbun here. DNS management is super easy too. Low prices was a plus too. Got a ".sh" for half of what everyone else I found has them for.

But they should be worried about it is all I'm saying. They want it now because that's what conservatives in charge say they should want and that's enough, but they desperately need to step back and see what's happening but then again, if more people were capable of doing that we wouldn't be in the shitter.

Z fold 4 here, I'll never go back.

The folks at Jekyll seem to recommend Talkyard:

I'm not super familiar with this as I was just looking into it myself from your post but figured I'd highlight that for ya.

Edit: seems their link is broken so here's a working one:

I think the bot only detects bad links. They need to build in a check for the correct link in the same comment. This bot is on pretty much every newcommunities post.

Because people complained about the connectivity requirements. Unfortunately I don't think we are there still, infrastructure for a lot of areas will not support this.
