Oh snap

Haha oh man it's weird to see this mentioned so many years later.

I helped organize that protest. Thanks for coming down with us!

I had to explain to a friend recently why

"I'm at Steve's house"

Was fine but

"I'm in Steve's house"

Was weird. Like, get out of there before you get arrested.

It's true, I basically had to learn to be super blunt to men.

"I think you're cute, want to go on a date with me"

Because literally nothing else gets through :|

This was me up until recently.

My advice: get a board and just go try it.

So much of basic skateboarding is just building confidence on flat ground. It's hard to hurt yourself when you're like 2 inches off the ground, at worst I've gotten some scraped knees and palms.

This guy's videos are down to earth if you want some quick motivation:

"I'm from a third world country"

Trump literally in the username.

Yep checks out lol

Or just the auto-reply bots that swarm like flies on certain keywords

The same story of publicly traded companies again and again.

Your steady growth isn't good enough.

Your growth has to grow - and if it's not growing fast enough then you're not doing your duty to the shareholders.

Add in the fact that we've let businesses get so large they empty all the air from the room and we've managed to enshittify our entire society.

And now think about how those same people are our politicians!

I'm now naked in bed, and this would probably get my boyfriend excited.

The true windows experience

It's a relief valve though. As someone who has suffered from unavailable care, black market drugs probably saved my life. I'm not terribly against adults being able to make such decisions on their own judgment.

The biscuits are amazing

EVE has been combating bots for years, optimal gameplay is often relatively simple to automate. I'm not sure they'll be all that disruptive.

(and the time it would take to implement data collection for a learning model is unlikely to be spent by anyone, for how much effort it would be considering the questionable gains over 'dumb' bots)

I still play EVE online, having a lot of fun in faction warfare these days.

A video came out on the history of the game recently, just a cool 6 hour deep dive. https://youtu.be/BCSeISYcoyI?si=1sKdXt8oPRUTbzs1

I've also gotten into Guild Wars 2 recently and I'm a little addicted. The game just feels great: nice community, events are engaging, so much stuff to do but at the same time not demanding like games can be sometimes.

I'm wondering if that's infrared to support the camera, and you can only see it because she's also taking a picture with a phone that uses infrared.

Sometimes I remind myself silently "just listen"

I noticed when I fly a lot of airlines include models of the plane you're on in the in-flight purchase pamphlet. They're pretty simple, probably fine for a kid - on the off chance you're flying somewhere for the holidays.

They really could work on their branding a bit

Just go talk to anyone over 65 about 'sagging jeans' and you'll get the same experience.

I hate this but honestly it's the most truly American way to handle it so I say go for it.

The disjointed random video dumping you to a new mission every time you log in as a new player is super weird. Really makes it hard to figure out what you were doing.

Humber

I eat green olives straight out of the can for lunch sometimes.

Tongue in cheek

Yes, of course.

But it's okay, because line go up!

Picking up on hints is a thing that requires a lot of social context and emotional empathy/intelligence. Unfortunately I don't think there's any pro tips I can offer to help you better identify them except interact with girls more and have honest conversations where you're not trying to get the girl to date you - it's learning the hard way, but bridging that emotional understanding gap is the only good way to get a better understanding of girls as people (and get your heart rate down so talking to them isn't a panic).

That said, if you can find the confidence, being a little blunt yourself can work as well. Girls can be dense too.

A lot of the reason girls are doing the subtle hint stuff is because they're also not confident / unsure / scared of rejection / scared of coming off too strong. It's a way of feeling out a situation without strong commitment. We kind of expect guys to do that back so that we can have a sort of subtle social fencing game to figure out if there might be mutual interest. (unfortunately, most of the time, everyone involved is too dense for this to be effective)

Honestly both sides kinda suck at this in their own ways.

Always wished there was a community somewhere for sharing actually decent mobile games.

I moved to Europe from the US. Forgot to cancel my gym membership before I went.

They demanded a handwritten letter, delivered in person by myself to cancel the membership. I wasn't buying an international flight just for them, so I mailed them a letter and had to threaten to sue to get them to close it. Absolutely disgraceful.

Sometimes I ask it for music recommendations.

But mostly I tend to just use it like a fancy thesaurus when I'm low on mental energy.

What is this weird AI generated unbuttered noodle of an article?

Man it's sad how much distrust they've built up now

All the activity in every zone I visit really does just feel so great. There's no better sign a game is alive and healthy. It was totally that which hooked me.

You're only goofy if you skate with your right foot forward.

I guess a political movement demanding better metrics / KPIs wouldn't be all that sexy, huh.
