I would say higher quality content in that the comments are pertinent and not just jokes. Sometimes I'd spend a couple of minutes reading nonsense on Reddit before realizing, then I'd try to scroll way down for a fresh comment thread, then just give up on the post

If it's our own picture, should we use imgur instead of uploading it here? I hadn't done it that way because I wasn't sure if that would let the picture be an expandable thumbnail or if you'd have to click through to imgur to see it

Edit: another question, I see the post language marked as English, when should I be selecting a language for my posts and/or comments, or is it not necessary

Having an ear for new languages and their pronunciation- I can memorize vocab and grammar quickly but what makes a big difference is being able to parse a conversation and pick out the pieces I don't know or didn't know until I heard it used. It makes it easier to dive in and learn as I go, which is so much faster, but unfortunately it also means I dabble a lot because I'm always wanting to try a new language.

Loved The Magicians! I didn't even make it through the first book and I can't remember what on Earth convinced me to watch the show, but I'm so glad I got on board!

Funny, and girl like funny

I don't usually give up on books, and it's been a long time so it's foggy, but my impression was that it was trying too hard to be harry potter/Narnia but adult! And edgy! And I couldn't stand Quentin or really any of the characters. I only know one other person that's experienced both and he also gave up on the book series.

Sometimes I am curious to try the books again now, but the show is so good I'd rather just rewatch it!

I used lemmyverse.net to find communities from the subs list I had on reddit, but I'll just have to remember to keep searching after some time has passed since my I won't have my reddit account for reference

Growing up, my Nana and Papa had a pear tree, and Nana used her apple pie recipe but with those pears instead. She only did it once as far as I know, and later they cut down the tree, but I still miss that pie!

I haven't seen it since theaters but I hated his voice then, found it somewhere between creepy and ridiculous. I remember a scene in an interrogation room where his monologue seemed like it would never end

I never got this either. My niece would rather run around and play games while it was on so we never really sat and watched it all the way through, but she would play it on repeat and I thought it was fun
