Maybe they just like the American flag. There doesn't always have to be a hidden meaning behind it.

Anyone can be sexually abused, not just underage people.

Calling other people's work embarrassing is easy when you're not the one building or contributing to the codebase. Implementing voice chat is no easy task, and it's all done voluntarily in people's free time.

With all due respect, you're very condescending and snobby. You act like you know his beliefs better than he does, that superiority complex looks ugly on you.

You think insulting people for having certain views is going to be helpful in this dialogue? You think mocking someone who's having a conversation with you in good faith is productive?

Grow up, quit being so smug and childish.

This is what annoys me, a lot of these replies act like there's a hidden agenda to everything. Saying things like, "They must support white supremacy! It's a racist dog whistle! They're a Trump supporter". Their assessments never have any nuance whatsoever: if you put that on your car, you're all of the above.

They have such a condescending attitude and a superiority complex towards anyone who disagrees with them. They just can't help but build this fictional stereotype about people they don't like to vilify them.

It's not wrong to like the American flag. While I'd never put it on my car, I know people who do, and they don't have a single mean bone in their body.

It is.

Then I guess you should avoid most Lemmy instances too. They're already very political, and it feels more like a left-wing echo chamber every day.

It's sad that you're getting down voted for this, because you're absolutely right. These lemmy communities are already turning out to be a left-leaning echo chamber, this thread is a perfect example. Any opinion that differs from the left is blocked or downvoted or argued against endlessly.

OP asks a completely reasonable question in good faith, and hundreds of people come to attack him for thinking differently than they do.

People straight up mock him for no reason. The left loves to paint the right as being hateful, but I'm only seeing the left being hateful on here.

Check the "All" page on the big Lemmy instances, it's undoubtedly very left-leaning. This whole thread is a testament to that.

Yeah, it's a shame that people can't be more civil and respectful to each other.

Openboard fork with swipe typing feels the closest to Gboard imho.

So they're just desktop environment reskins? With sons basic config files changed? What's the point? You can download some packages and files any time from normal Arch for the same outcome.

Thanks for doing this!

Any advice would be appreciated.

I took a few liberties in the skills section by putting the gRPC framework and REST under "Platforms", I just wanted some place to put them. I will restructure it a bit since they don't exactly fit there.

Someone's political beliefs aren't indicative of how well they can form an argument. People can misrepresent data regardless of their political leanings, this whole talking point in the comments is irrelevant.

This is from page 26 of A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin.

The exact same thing can be said for liberal communities. It becomes a hivemind where dissenting opinions are not allowed.

Take the Hunter Biden laptop story for instance. So many websites and communities outright banned it from being discussed or posted because they didn't like the optics of it. Facebook banned it, the top subs on reddit banned it.

Only very recently has CNN decided to treat it as news, after lying about it constantly on air for months saying it was fake. That's censorship of information. The left regularly spread misinformation like "the laptop story is a Russian hoax".

Both sides do this.

The first album I heard from M83 was Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts, and it's been my favorite ever since. Highly recommend playing that one front to back if you have the time, it's an adventure.

The way you're framing it seems disingenuous. You act like only people on the right lie and spread misinformation (and they do!). It feels like you're making a childish jab at the right because you don't like them.

Left-wing people and right-wing people both lie to you plenty, because political leanings have nothing to do with it.

I'm not claiming the piece itself is truthful, but you've got your head deep in the sand if you think the right wing is the only group lying to you, while the left & everyone else is truthful.

They won't.

What a condescending, bratty thing to say. You don't have to belittle people just because you disagree with them. You can have respectful, mature conversation :)

Not everything is related to skin color Jesus. The world isn't so black and white.

What's what suppose to mean? Discounting his opinion because his username has the word Eskimo in it?

Just because something references race doesn't mean it's racist.

Well, I'm glad. I wouldn't want to engage with someone as condescending and rude as you, either. The less people talk with you the better.

So you would support government limiting an individual's right to run software on their computer because you don't agree with what the software outputs?

That's absolute nonsense. The entire premise of these machine learning models is that they accept any arbitrary input, you would want to neuter that?

So it's acceptable for AIs to generate these sorts of outputs, as long as they aren't shared online? Sure, the outputs aren't very tasteful, but they're certainly not illegal by any stretch.

Why do you think the government should intervene, and what you would even expect them to do? No laws are being broken.

If you somehow forbid AIs from generating this through a national law just because it's offensive, it'll open to floodgates to ban 1,000 other things that are offensive. Where do you draw the line? Ban this content from websites like TikTok, sure. But it doesn't make sense to regulate this from the AIs themselves.

Trump is entirely irrelevant to this, and I'm confused why you feel the need to throw it in. This trend has been around long before 2016.

Have you seen all the comments on this thread?

Instead of answering the OPs question, 100+ people are just bashing him for thinking differently, saying stuff like "Well, why are you conservative in the first place? Conservatism is so stupid! People on the right are evil, monsters, etc."

This left wing echo chamber is already very hateful and against any differing opinions.
