It will make the air behind your fridge warmer in exchange for making the air around your body cooler. There's usually not great airflow behind the fridge so it won't affect the rest of your house much.

If you've got an open kitchen or something you can still freeze the bottles at night and use them during the day.

This is a disaster waiting to happen, especially when reputable mushroom books look like this

I get that you've got good intentions, but this reads like an email I would find my spam folder and I can't imagine it would inspire any reddit mods to move over to Lemmy. The mods who were so dissatisfied with Reddit that they would be willing to migrate with the information in this script have already done so.

There are likely be some who might be willing to migrate if they get personal support from an instance admin or some other tangible offer of assistance, but nobody is going to jump ship just because "Reddit Bad" anymore.

the funniest ideas were always the ones people came up with when our work kept us up late at night

I see we're still glorifying toxic work cultures.

I'm bored, can we go home?

Only because neither have humans.

I should write some documentation so I don't have to remember which memes have already been posted here.

That message doesn't mean your prompt was bad (there's a different error for that), it means it thinks the image it generated had banned content. False alarms are pretty common IME but usually you can try again with the same prompt and it will work as long as the prompt isn't too likely to create something that looks like violence/sexual content/etc. for whatever reason.

When my face gets sweaty, my glasses will sometimes slip off without me feeling it which usually means I don't catch them before they hit the floor. I could see someone pulling something out of the oven in a rush and not noticing that their glasses came off. Particularly if there was a bunch of steam or smoke and they closed their eyes.

I chalk those up to nerdy kids attempting youthful mischief.

I don't know who needs to hear this but if you're suffering from this level of social anxiety and executive dysfunction you're probably not "just introverted".

It will be funny when all the LLMs start posting it in their responses at least.

A lot of projects don't use it or forget to update it for multiple versions so you probably aren't missing much.

I had those issues but they went away after I got a shorter USB cord.

We rolled back your change to fix Jenkins, please remember to run preflight checks before submitting.

Reigen knows what's up.

I always found the SP super uncomfortable to hold compared to the original GBA, it's made for kid-sized hands.

Me: it's never good to work late

Also me: I know I was supposed to go home an hour ago but I'm so close to fixing this bug

Clothes have become a lot less flammable over the years and open fireplaces aren't the primary heating method for most houses anymore.

It's naval tradition, if your ship is being hijacked by pirates or enemy forces, raising the flag upside down is a way to signal passing ships without alerting the hijackers.

The thing is, that's why the Jan 6 insurrectionists were using it as a symbol in the first place. Trump convinced them election was rigged so the upside down flag was used to signal that they believed the country was being hijacked.

Hypersexuality is a real symptom of mania and I can see how a manic person might mistake it for a porn addiction.

Figuring out gender is hard. Picking a specific label isn't the most important thing, it's fine to use umbrella terms like "questioning", "queer", "gender nonconforming", or "non-binary" while you figure it out (or even as a permanent label if you don't feel a need to describe your gender specifically).

I would recommend the book My Gender Workbook by Kate Bornstein, I found the exercises in it to be very helpful for examining how I felt about my gender.

There is no freedom without the freedom to be cringe

If you're trolling right now then you're doing an A+ job.

I did actually, we still get folks popping in from all telling us our memes are "normal behavior" or whatever so I thought it was worth mentioning.

When I was a kid, parents and teachers used to teach, if you have sore muscles a day after an extensive workout, you need to work out even more in order to reduce the soreness. In fact, however, you need to rest those muscles.

Strained muscles need rest but when starting a new workout routine it's common to experience Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) the next day which you can relieve with light exercise.

For apartment complexes there's yelp/Google maps reviews.

Shapewear + normal underwear is a good alternative to tucking underwear. If you don't sweat a ton you can even wear the shapewear multiple days before you need to wash it. I like Uniqlo's but there are probably cheaper options.

By federating with them, your instance is providing them with free content to profit off of. Every post you make is another post for their users to scroll through, another chance for them to inject ads even if you personally block Threads.

Are you aware that lemmy.world has defederated from lemmygrad and hexbear which means you won't see any comments from them even if they're all over the thread?

It's code, but without automated tests, comments, style rules

So it's game code.

But seriously, Unreal blueprints actually support all of those.

Takes up less pocket space and the primary screen is more protected.

There aren't any third party Presidential candidates in America who deserve 20% of the popular vote. None of them put any effort into winning congressional seats or pushing alternative voting to make themselves viable. They're just a bunch of grifters and fools who only show up every four years to beg for donations instead of doing anything useful to fix our political system.

That's more of a semantic disagreement with how you define "trans". If you use the definition "anyone who identifies with a gender other than the one assigned at birth" then all non-binary people are trans.

Disagree, without IP laws whoever has the most money can crush all competition. An example of this is how the first pump hand soap softsoap couldn't patent the hand pump design because it already existed so they just bought all the existing stock to prevent anyone from releasing a competing product.

If you get rid of IP laws you'll just further entrench the existing winners.

Write a good book? Without copyright, Penguin random house publishes an exact copy at a higher quality and sells a million copies while you sell a handful to discerning fans.

Build a quality product? Without trademark, proctor and gamble flood the market using your brand name and nobody can distinguish their products from yours even though their quality is much worse.

Invent something revolutionary? Without patents you have to keep your process a secret so you don't get copied. If you get hit by a bus your invention is now lost to society forever unless someone manages to reverse-engineee it.

I keep mine in the fridge and feed it once a week. I find it's a good balance of maintenance to usability.
