The mastodon links are near the end of the post.

TIL the origin of the word.

But I am confused. Anyone offended for using the word?

When repos changed to main from master, I got problems.

People are hypersensitive over these words now.

Yeah. I agree with you. New non-tech-savvy person might misunderstand.

However, new user rarely look at the changelog. So I think this wording does not affect much.

Like mastondon.world admin said, you can always block the threads.net at user level.

The instance itself will wait and see.

We won’t pre-emptively defederate from Threads. Users can themselves decide to block threads. (If we were to defederate, users can’t anymore decide to un-block themselves.)

We will keep a close eye on all developments with Threads joining the Fediverse, and when we see trouble, we might reconsider this statement.

When the time comes for them to watch, they have their own version of our favorites - remake or remastered, adaptations or whole different series.

Now the collection is for the dads' nostalgia.

I used to use 12ft.io whenever I needed to read a paywalled article.

Is the "Bypass paywall clean" extension better than 12ft.io?

I have kdeconnect on my i3wm.

Not an advice.

I once in a situation like yours. I liked both of my colleagues, one complained about the other. Long story short they got married (and still happily married). Lesson learnt, don't pay much attention to the complaints.

I didn't know that Stardew valley can be modded. I saw a lot of good reviews but afraid to dip in as I think it will be a time sucker.

I have played rimworld and cities skylines. They really are a time sucker (especially with mods).

Now this mod has piqued my interest again.

You should check your naming setting. Here is the resource on it

In my country, the frequent black-outs put a lot of industries and businesses towards solar. The alternatives such as generators are more expensive and the solar are now cheaper in long term.

In 1990s and 2000s, we used generators, batteries and inverters or candles depending on how much you could afford.

Most of the recommendations apply to all the major OS e.g. turn off Bluetooth, do not share location, keep admin account but use standard account for daily use, keep firewall on, etc.

A lot of privacy thing can also be opt-out.

OSCP, SIP and multi layer security hardening are where users could not customize.

in summary, Linux > macOS > Windows.

But ...

I am an Asian living in Asia. And I wouldn't know the racism encountered by someone over other continents. Hence the question.

Peter Russell makes fun of India people.

Jo Koy makes fun of Phillipine people.

Jing Yang makes fun of Chinese people.

Fluffy makes fun of Mexican people.

Colored people can call each other N words.

Even white comedians joke that the people most sensitive are the people who are not in the affected groups.

I live in an Asian country where racism is not well known or may be people are not aware of the issue.

I hear about the issue though internet, experience shared by friends who had been to western countries, and so on.

I asked the question because I wanted to know.
