With enough care, attention and sympathy we can understand not just men or women, but anyone who decides or is not able to fit any of the universal binary expressions and experiences.
So, if you were looking for answers that fall into the opposite diatribes. This is not the place for that.
Where is the place for that? Just want to hear some honest perspectives for educations sake.
Try the "askmen" community
Gotcha. So just for future reference, are we not allowed/supposed to ask questions like this in this community? Or is it moreso just looked down upon in here than other communities that are specifically suited for questions like it?
Nah you're fine. There are people like 3laws up there who like to gatekeep.

I'm not sure you know what gatekeeping is because that comment has the gate wide open
Who made you the mayor of AskLemmy? OP never said who is or isn't a man/woman. Ever trans people can attest to the differences in responses they get from people before and after transitioning.
For example, while men don't have to deal with cat-calling, they do have to deal with being either ignored or feared by strangers. I can't tell you the last time I received a compliment from a stranger; I do remember the last time someone crossed the street to avoid me.
And while men and women can be empathetic to each other, some things require experience to understand. Do I really understand what it's like to have to watch my drink at a bar? Do women really understand the quiet loneliness that a lot of men go through? I really doubt it.
