My family called it coke.I'm from Quebec, always called it a soft drink, or boisson gazeuse.I have never heard another Canadian ever call it coke, everyone where I live calls it pop.I'm pretty sure that as a Canadian you're suppose to apologize for that now.As a Canadian I would never apologize to someone from Quebec.As in, a family member would say “can you get me a coke from the fridge?” And you’d reply “what kind?” And they’d say “sprite!”? Because that’s what this is referring to. I’ve never heard it anywhere outside of the south.You (/family) may need to speak with the Canadian Government to take a retest for your Canadian citizenship.
