Youtube for Samsung TV Tizen OS

In general, I'd appreciate recommendations for it, but a third party youtube app would be great.

I just installed jellyfin via a one line docker install which worked great.

Edit: Tizen OS is horrible. The whole OS is one huge ad.

The settings are spread across everywhere.

It has multiple different views for apps and recommendations and movies. Everything is mixed together into one giant swamp in one view.

I don't think there's any homebrew for Tizen OS

you can get an Onn TV box from Walmart for $20 (before tax) and install SmartTube on it

Whoa, I've never heard of this as an option. I watch YouTube on my PS5 and the ads are insane. How hard is this to set up and use? Would I just find smarttube somewhere online on my computer and then send it to the onn box via USB into the apps folder or something?

It runs Android TV, so you just need to get the APK onto your TV. You can download a file manager from the Play store (I use X-Plore) and use that to install the APK from via USB. Alternatively, you could download a web browser from the Play store (I use TV Bro) and download the APK directly on the TV.

It also works with Amazon FireTV (Stick) or any other Android TV box / stick, just in case you have already one lying around. ;)

I literally just cleaned out a closet like a week ago and came across an old firetv stick lol. Are you my assigned CIA agent? Because if so, you're a lot cooler than I assumed you'd be.
