I suggest not doing any of this and just finding the apk somewhere, because most likely it runs perfectly on newer android, and Google is just being a bitch
aptoide is good. i pesonally have the normal degoogled from my os, apdoide, aurora f-droid and mitch (unofficial itch app)
Aurora Store (not Aurora Droid) can fake phone specs and download APKs directly from Play without any shady intermediaries.
