So I wanted to make an account on this anarchist piracy instance but the redfash mods won't let me without showing them my papers first.
I heard that hexbear was the redfash tankie instance but they allow users to sign up anonymously so what gives?
I would think this requirement would be antithetical to a piracy focused instance.
So if I were stupid enough to include a regular email and not a throwaway then the admin here could just doxx my email any time they threw a fit about being called a liberal?

Because it's very funny that a piracy focused site asks for your email and there is no dunk tank equivalent on this instance.
Also I have zero chill after mister db0 got so ruffled as to start harassing a mod in dms on hexbear.

The reason seems pretty clear to me. Forcing folks to sign up with a valid email is bad opsec. It's good to call that out
