I feel sorry for men who have to wear pants

I can wear a dress to work and nobody criticizes me. I’d be really sad if I had to wear pants all the time, they’re just not as comfortable. Let’s normalize pretty dresses for dudes!

Sarongs are the answer. In warmer months I wear them often.

How can it be sarong when it feels saright?

Growing up in Fiji my school uniform was a formal sulu (Fijian sarong). Comfy and versatile. Even the police wear them on the job.

You're 100% right. I shall spread the word and call it "saright" from now on. I have some from Samoa and Thailand, but perhaps I should look into sulu for special occasions.

I'm really interested in finding alternative ways to dress that aren't too "out there", in what way do you typically wear your sarong? What type of knot do you use? And what does your sarong look like?

You don't knot sarong, you wrap it around you and then fold the top edge down a couple of times. It's much more secure and comfortable that way. The sarongs I have are in more "manly" colours. Black/blue, brown/tan, dark purple/ochre - those have floral and tribal motifs. Then I have a couple that are brown with multicoloured lizards on them. Generally I wear them with short sleeved button up shirts. I've never ever gotten a negative comment or a weird look (not that I notice looks much). On contrary, I've had a few compliments and a couple of guys saying "I'd walk around in a sarong all the time but my wife won't let me."

Super cool, thanks for writing this up! I'm going to look out for a cool sarong then.

That lizard sarong sounds awesome!

It's even cooler than you imagine. The lizards are geckos about 40 cm long. I wish I knew how to insert a photo in reply.
