Are you saying you’d rather us leave children alone in a dessert? What we do is pick them up and house them until we find the closest relative in the USA. This is almost always done in <2 weeks. Edit: yes, there was a surge where kids were briefly detained outdoors while they were being transitioned to a more stable housing situation (while we still searched for relatives).
