Project 2025 will rob people of their lives.

The thing to remember about Project 2025 is that it has a 180 day execution window. This stuff will happen so fast it'll make your head spin.

Honestly, that 180 day window thing is nominal. The execution of all of that will take way longer with all of the litigation that would happen, and it'll take a couple of years to get it all enacted (slow at first then accelerating as more gets enacted).

Personally, I'd prefer if it were fast. The sudden change would wake people up, and cause way more civil unrest. If it's slow, we end up as frogs slowly boiling. Fewer people will protest or cause issues if things unfold slowly. It's the idea of the frog in the boiling water. If the changes are swift, there's a higher chance of ordinary people taking notice and fighting to reverse them.

It's the idea of the frog in the boiling water.

The water is already 208 degrees man. This country is the montage in the opening scenes of a dystopian film as it is.

Crumbling infrastructure. Natural disasters. Civil unrest. Disease. Tense international relations. Food costs escalating, and only to get worse due to changing climate.

Except in the experiment that coined the phrase, the frogs jumped out. We ain't jumping. We're acting more like crabs in a bucket.

We are at 212F on the left side of the phase transition. Still liquid, but there isn’t much hope left.

Hah, there's no way they get all that done in 180 days. I believe they would want to do it, but someone's been hitting Hitler's party drugs if they think Washington can move that fast.

With a Supreme Court in your pocket, literally whats stopping the new president from being a dictator?

Congress isn't captured and they do still need to actually amend the law on all of this. Or else the lower courts will tie it up for years. SCOTUS would have to abandon all procedure and decorum to get stuff moved quicker. And at that point the legitimacy is just gone.

Idk that they care about appearing legitimate

Well they should. Even Hitler cared about that. If you don't maintain that veneer you tend to get tarred and feathered.

Sure, that's assuming this is an internal attack. However, if the goal is to cause our entire country to collapse as an attack from an external enemy, then making the Supreme Court appear blatantly illegitimate is a perfect way to do that.

Aren't you guys noticing how this Republican takeover emulates right-wing takeovers done by the CIA everywhere? The CIA didn't just do this to attack leftwing stuff, they also did this so we could take resources from those countries. Aka there's another country (or group of super wealthy leaders) trying to destabilize us and extract our resources/wealth here.

Stop getting mad at the chess pieces and look at the chess player.

Uhh. The CIA was considerably less subtle. They didn't cause lost elections, they caused coups.

And when the mob reacts to a loss of legitimacy you get Ukraine, not Argentina.

Yes, they caused coups by supporting right wing movements in those countries and making them appear like grassroots movements. Then when the right wing people take control, the country collapses. It's Iran. Have you seen pictures of Iran before it got fucked? Women were going to school, it looked completely different.

Women were going to school under the Shah. I think you've confused the Iranian revolution with the CIA coup.

https://www.npr.org/2019/01/31/690363402/how-the-cia-overthrew-irans-democracy-in-four-days

Mossadegh thought he was in the clear, but Roosevelt hadn't given up. He orchestrated a second coup, which succeeded. Mossadegh was placed on trial and spent his life under house arrest. The shah returned to power and ruled for another 25 years until the 1979 Iranian Revolution. The 1953 coup was later invoked by students and the political class in Iran as a justification for overthrowing the shah.

First USA privatizes the army. Then China offers to pay triple if the private army turns against the USA and Xi calmly claims the White House.

Xi could cut out the middleman and just buy Congress. They are already privatised.

Troops... Or, as Trump calls them, "suckers".

I hate trump but he’s honestly right here. Imagine signing up to join the military to murder brown children overseas in order to further enrich american corporations.

They are suckers because they keep voting for the assholes sending them into the meat grinder.

Republicans hate the soldiers

They always have. Conservatives wave a flag and think they “love the troops”, then vote everyone possible to make their lives awful.

For once, they do something right.

Fuck the army. Especially American.

I'm all for cutting military spending, but this is not the spot to cut. Stop ordering Jets nobody wants, Armored Personnel Carriers that don't safely meet the role, and bullshit other places that spend when they are unneeded. Soldier benefits are necessary.

Nah, them ordering that stuff is fine, if it's up to standard. What should really light your fires is that they order these from places that grossly overcharge, and don't seem to give a fuck. $5000 for a pair of socks is a joke for a reason.

I know it isn't "always", but it has been proven that the "overcharging" is a way to launder money into black budget projects and operations. They aren't always "bad", the Manhattan Project was a black budget, as was the development of the stealth bomber.

I am also less concerned about a 5k pair of socks and more worried $90 million/plane F-35 that is widely regarded by pilots as a worse plane than the jets being replaced. You know, the one we spent $2 Trillion developing. I'm sure there were some $25k hammers in there, but overall it was so much other waste. Let's cut some of that type of spending.

Don't wanna be that guy, but this seems pretty far down the list of awful stuff it would bring.

Every entry is written like : We'll destroy this freedom we don't like as well as anything else we don't like. Followed by: We'll dismantle these other human rights plus anything else we don't like.

It's literally "We're going to do whatever we want and we're going to make anyone who opposes us an enemy of the state. Thus removing all rights to personhood for those people."

If they get control, slavery will return to America in less than a couple years.

Sure they'll be called "Prisoners with jobs." and instead of "just" black people. It will be all poor people and a bunch of women and queer kids

This plan is a recipe to create a ruling class who trade in the lives over humans. Especially the idiots that vote for them.

Ok so I got a bit ranty.. but the thing is. I'm writing this thinking it sounds pretty hyperbolic right? Sounds like I'm blowing it way out of proportion.. but I read it and think.. NO it's even worse than that...

I think the intent here is to make sure army vets understand voting for the trumpet is not in their best interest.

Yeah, I know, and it's totally true.. I support the message. It just feels like a drop in the ocean compared to the other horrifying outcomes.

Sadly they like other republicans love to vote against their interests in order to hurt others

If they get control, slavery will return to America in less than a couple years.

You think that's the end game for some people? I think it's worse. I don't think it would happen immediately, but I think things escalate over the years especially as they find they can't simply deport everyone they don't like, and not everyone will be "fit" for slavery. You can imagine where I'm going I am sure.

Yeah. I was trying my best to not spiral into the worst case.

We already have “prisoners with jobs” (slaves) in America. Don’t try and act like America isn’t already a racist shithole.

I would never. It most certainly is a fucking nightmare

It’s much higher than you realize. VA budget is roughly 180b, and that won’t be cut. Instead it will all be privatized.

So now the burden is on the private healthcare to treat veteran specific issues, and they won’t.

There are also hundreds of thousands of vets who depend on the compensation payments. Now you have hundreds of thousands of additional homeless people across the country. They are now a burden on society.

The 180b? All going into the coffers of Federalist society allies and big businesses. That is a lot of money removed from the economy. It will ripple worse than any factory shuttering. This one is going to cause massive devastation so some rich fucks can buy a new yacht and be oligarchs.

Woowwww.. that's nuts. I often forget the US is mostly just one big military and the infrastructure to support it.

Our three branches of government are Oil, Finance, and the Military Industrial Complex.

Oil powers the machine and the money people steal from everyone to keep it going

Lol, good luck with that "revolution" when the military deserts en masse.

Half the fun of fascism is deflecting the blame for your miserable policies on your favorite scapegoat.

The military will march to war to end the Woke that stole their benefits

Has Trump agreed to follow this project? I just keep seeing you guys talk about a plan a group made and then are pretending that everyone agrees.

Good point! Will the man who literally Sold Out the United States of America to our Enemies go along with this plan that promises to Enrich him with Wealth and Power? I don't know!

How did he do that? Please be very specific.

How? Read Project 2025. That's how.

"the man who literally Sold Out the United States of America to our Enemies"

How did he sell america to our enemies?

By putting people into power that will serve him. He flew by the seat of his pants last time and did plenty of long-lasting damage. This time he'll be prepared with a cabinet of the most competent and horrific fascists our country has to offer.

This is so broad as to be meaninless, I asked for specific examples.

He says he's got nothing to do with it. Yet-he's got senior advisors and past appointees that helped write it and support it. He says he needs the heritage foundation -the organization that made it, to accomplish his goals. His super PAC runs ads for it. He stands in front of a podium and calls for things that are pretty identical to what's in it.

Stop watching the mouth and look at the goddamn hands.

He will say anything to lever himself more power because the only way he out runs the shadow of his crimes is by becoming president again.

So then if he has said he has nothing to do it then its a bullshit critique.

I'm not going to vote blue this November.

Now, how credible do you believe that statement to be?

Don't look the pile of evidence in my user history-that'd be makin a bullshit critique.

If you dont think you will vote democrat in novermber, then you I guess I can only trust what you have to say, or you might just not vote. So since trump didnt say he was in support of the agenda, why should I think he is?

Surely the man whose most well known trait is how much he lies can be believed

If you have examples of him agreeing with parts of the plan, then please share and then you have an accurate critique. Right now you are just saying trump believes something he says he doesnt believe.

Yes/no.

On the "let's all remain calm" side we should remember that white papers like these are created and circulated before every presidential election. They are not party policy, merely suggestions.

But then we can remember that the Iraq War was a 1998 Heritage Foundation white paper proposal for the 2000 election.

I think it's more of a concern that any single one of these steps happens it means completely dismantling modern democracy. The details don't matter

No it doesnt

Have you read the entire document once? I feel like that's the minimum to be able to comment on it.

It's not long and it uses short words so that their base can understand.

I dont need to read it to know that no part of it "completely dismantles modern democracy". If you believe it does, then you are just believing propaganda.

Things liberals care about: Project 2025, Trump impolite, Biden have bad debate

Things liberals don’t care about: Biden’s genocide in Palestine, Biden caging children at the border with Mexico, Biden doing eugenics by ending all covid protections, Biden abandoning trans people, Biden doing nothing to protect abortion rights, Biden refusing to do anything about inflation because his corporate puppet masters benefit from it, Biden funding nazis in Ukraine and attempting to start WW3 with China,

I love the Biden cages thing. It shows how ignorant people are because they only read headlines. Every president detains unaccompanied minors. Are you saying you’d rather us leave children alone in a dessert? What we do is pick them up and house them until we find the closest relative in the USA. This is almost always done in <2 weeks. Please read the article and not just the headlines.

Edit: yes, there was a surge where kids were briefly detained outdoors while they were being transitioned to a more stable housing situation (while we still searched for relatives).

If every president cages children, doesn’t that mean that the USA is fundamentally evil and should cease to exist?

The less evil option is to let them die alone in a fucking desert? That’s really the hill you want to die on? Letting kids wander around alone in deserts instead of helping them?

Maybe the USA could stop destroying their home countries so they feel no need to leave? Do you think they actually want to come here?

Dodging the question. When you find a child in the middle of the desert, do you abandon them or house them?

I definitely don’t put them in a concentration camp like biden. I also try not to destroy their country in order to enrich my corporate puppet masters.

Ok, so you let the kids die alone in a desert? That’s fucked up.

Again, for the record, almost none go into the cages for more than a couple hours. But again, you’re more of a headline type so you probably stopped reading this comment by now

Project 2025 is not Trump policy or a Republican playbook. It is policy proposals from Heritage Foundation, a Conservative think tank.

Now tell us how many Heritage Foundations recommendations do the Republicans and Trump take on board! Distancing the Heritage Foundations from them rather undersells the position of one of the most influential public policy organizations particularly within conservative politics.

The previous trump admin got its entire judicial appointment list from the heritage foundation, including supreme court nominees.

The plan also has has 100s of offical endorsements from GOP orgs and previous Trump appointees, including many who will likely have official roles in a new admin.

They are 100% interlinked, no matter what weak distancing the campaign tries to do because the fascist project is polling badly.

Yeah, given how much Trump and Republicans lean on Heritage, and Trump has been talking about doing some "light" tyranny on day 1, it's ridiculous to attempt to write off the Heritage Foundations' plan to Christian Fascism.
