Well, social imperialism was a real thing. though it's in no way comparable to the atrocities of capitalist (aka. "normal") imperialism
Yeah, that's no typo. You have regular boring communist countries that just sit there being communist. In a post-McCarthy world most people realized those countries are pretty benign. You have imperialist nations that attempt to extend their territory and influence. Then you slap it all together and you get the USSR. Or Putin's Russia. Don't let them knock over their neighbors, install puppet governments, give them any aid or comfort or intel or anything
