[OC] Civil War Naval museum in Columbus, Georgia

I find the civil war era of technology interesting. I think a Total War game set there would be awesome. Doubt we'll ever see it though. Either the game would ignore the problematic aspects of the south and get criticized or if would focus too much on it and the tone would be weird. The closest we have is Fall of the Samurai I think. Obviously the geographic area is different but it's close to the time period.

It's interesting because it's sort of the end of traditional line wars. WW1 sort of had them but they were trenches instead.

Reading the text in some of the other pics, it feels like some curator was fighting the good fight and trying to undo some lost cause nonsense without pissing off the Daughters of the Confederacy too much.

It's a private museum, so I wasn't sure what to expect when it came to all that, but I didn't get much of a feel there was any lost causery. All the exhibits seemed to present their information straight forwardly.
