I would encourage everyone, regardless of leanings, to listen to the first chapter, to the end, including notes. That’s as far as I got between tcb, random pop-in guests, and conversing with my parent.

As an introductory note, Altemeyer explains that rwa can very much apply to hard economic leftists, that is, communists, as well as fascists.

The author gives away copies of this book and self-narrates it at the link provided, so he’s invested quite a bit of himself into this work.

The notes at the end of the chapter contain interesting anecdotes wrt a suggestion for his experiments given by Sagan, Barry Goldwater, and generalizations.

This is a 9 hour video... How long is the first chapter, minutes wise? I feel like people (myself included) are going to want some kind of a general idea of time commitment here.

The website with free book downloads and several updated introductions here: https://theauthoritarians.org/

The book is a bit scrappy and in need of an editor but also an astonishing read. If you want a good taster, ctrl-f "global change game" for reports of some fascinating experiments.

Hi, yes, that sim is discussed in the first chapter, it’s quite fascinating!

Thanks for the website, I very much appreciate it.
