Louisiana’s off-the-grid schools are a rapidly growing example of the nation’s continuing fallout from COVID: families disengaging from public school.
Depriving a child of a valid education should really constitute neglect. I've known adults who were homeschooled or attended some wacky Christian school, and they're always lacking basic skills and knowledge. And it's not the kids' fault that their parents are religious nuts, but sometimes the cycle continues.
