[QUESTION] Is this community with the same moderators as the subreddit?

As title say.

Sorry if it is off topic, I just want to know.

No, we aren't the same. Interestingly enough they have just created a new Lemmy community, but seeing as this already has a few thousand users, unless everyone from r/Android joins that one, this will become the new default Android community.

Edit: Turns out they've made a completely new instance! Check it out at lemdro.id!

That's good, to be honest, they banned me for no reason on reddit (spam), but I am really convinced that I was not breaking any rules, so I ask for an elaboration on that, and they straight up ignored me.

This happened a couple of months ago, but only now using the official reddit app I noticed they didn't answer me, so I wrote another message seeking for an explanation, and they muted me for 28 days.

PS: the ban was only from participating, I could still see the posts and comments.

"Fuck you."

"But why?"

*You have been muted for 72 hours

Ye, it was impulsive, but you guys as mods suck 😂 not even care to explain why you PERMANENTLY ban an user.

I surely may have read it wrongly and I have 72h of mute, but it could be avoided by giving me 2 lines of words and explain to me why I have been banned. Maybe you can't because my ban was unjustified, so you decided to simply ignore me.

Have a great day.

EDIT: I got muted for 28 days.

I agree that reddit mods suck, hence my post. Did you seriously get that confused?

Because I send a message with "fuck you" and they muted me for that, so I thought you were one of them who can see the message lol

The mods you're talking about are not in charge of this instance, there's no such thing as "rightful" mods anyway. This is currently the largest Android community that grew on lemmy.world with its own mods and that's it.

I honestly think most subs will end up making this move. It lets them spread out into communities like Pixel, Galaxy, LG, Android TV, modding, etc instead of hacking the flair to have some sense of organization. Also it gives the existing reddit mods complete control of the entire user experience of the transition to the new Lemmy experience.

We should've had a poll if we wanted to have this community closed to be merged with the old mods tbh. Just closing this one down in favor of the other is bad taste, especially when there are already discussions about how to handle multiple communities on different servers already

What happened? You just said you wouldn't leave this community, and now you marging with them?

Oh well, I will not follow any Android community 😂

EDIT: I will think about it, because the reddit mods treated me like they were kids, so I am not sure about their seriety.

yea this is pretty dumb. This community had more subscribers and tbh i would rather us move away from anyone associated with the old mods

I know right, I am glad I am not the only one thinking this way. Oh well, nothing much we can do about it.

There are PRs currently debating on how to handle this situation. It should've just been left as it is as this is kinda a feature of the fediverse

That's good to know. It was better it the mods of this community would have asked its mermbers before doing anything.

In general, no - people have set up communities because they wanted to, not because they were part of the mod team for a specific subreddit.

You can go to lemdro.id . It's hosted by one of the subreddit moderators.

Thanks, but I am gonna avoid their community. You can read my other comment for the reason.
